Wonder how he'll line up next weekend. Tbh, whatever side he puts out is going to terrify me but the thought of Martina against their forwards is chastening.

We're going to need a defensive masterclass to get a draw. Hopefully he's got a plan.
He’ll play deep so their pacy forwards can’t get in behind us. But you’re right it’s going to take a masterclass to stop them scoring, I think only Utd have managed it this season and they parked the bus for 90 minutes.

And I just don't feel we've got anything to hurt them with on the break, set pieces aside.

We berate the Moyes derbies at Anfield and granted they were grim viewing but at least we were in the game. Since he left it's actually got even worse. Hopefully Allardyce can actually get us a foothold in the game.

It does seem hard to see where we could hurt them. Everyone bangs on about their defence, but I agree with you, you’ve got to have possession and a foothold in the game to exploit this.

You would imagine he would defend deep next week then replace Calvert-Lewin with Niasse and push Sigurdsson up when they hopefully tire.
We’ll probably get beat like.

He has tried hard in 3 days to do and say the right things and looks well up for it. The difference with Koeman and his staff already seems stark just in terms of attitude and enthusiasm alone.

A good result always helps. Can’t get carried away at all of course but I think Sam is a lot more savvy than he is generally given credit for. We will have clear direction and I think he will put a lot of work in with the players individually.

A very decent week considering the awful way it began and a good few days for Sam.

Sam's last two jobs, for me have been his best since Bolton for me. Both clubs were paying some really good stuff by the end of both seasons. I am surprised he didn't stick with Palace as he looked onto a good thing there.

I've written a fair bit he is a slow starter, and we will see the best in the new year, as it will take him time to get us fully organised to playing his way. This will be heightened I feel by both the returning players and the ability to bring lads in/balance squad in January.

Today is positive, we have come a long way since Southampton. As I said somewhere else, he's an experienced manager but comes across like an experienced manager, unlike say Moyes who seems to have badly regressed post Everton. He has an authority and calmness about him (bordering on arrogance which he will have to watch as it will annoy fans). At no point did I not think we'd win today. Look at Williams too, looks a different player in 3-4 days.
