We could easily "do a Villa" if this trend of results and transfer profligacy is not reversed soon.
Allardyce was brought in to avoid relegation. We all knew that. The players couldn’t get the basics right. He improved things initially but he hasn’t done well enough and he shouldn’t keep the job long term.

Sacking him now would be stupid and booing him during the rest of his time here would be equally as stupid. As would booing the players every game. They’re struggling enough as it is. They don’t need to be up against the crowd as well.

Interesting that you edited out the first bit of my comment, where I suggested that fans who blindly accept the status quo are turning their back on the club rather than your stated position that only blanket support irrespective of performance, application and comments to the press constitutes support. You would get on pretty well with the political structures in Russia or China, I reckon.

You need to stop blaming the fans lad and accept you were out of order back in November when you were cheerleading for Sam to be appointed and firing shots at fans for genuinely held opinions.

The wedge was driven between fans and hierarchy when the hierarchy made the embarrassing decision to appoint a known entity of epic fraudulent proportions.

And yet he's got us up the league table and any side below us would want him as manager till the end of the season to save them from relegation.

Are they waiting for the Official Relegation Fight to begin once we fail to defeat Brighton? Then once again counting on the new manager affect to keep us in he division. May be worth throwing an additional five million at Fonseca and Shaktar to join us now instead of the summer. That five million will pale into insignificance if we stay up.

Just need to stay up...that's what Allardyce does.

I didn’t even particularly want him. I just thought everyone turning their back on the club was a bit pathetic. I still do.

Correct.

Worse thing is i thought we'd offloaded the majority of the garbage players over the last season or 2 but we've brought in worse players on bigger contracts.

The 'Bolasie syndrome'.

As for Allardyce...write this season off...he will keep us up and we do need to replace him in the summer..,

Ive turned on him myself but, he keeps teams up.

Beat brighton and were back on for 7th again till the next game lol

A bit of contrition would go a long way to getting the fans to back him more. Admitting when he makes mistakes rather than throwing defenders under the bus for not scoring goals and blaming previous regimes for us still not being able to win away from home would buy him a bit more time with us as fans because we appreciate honesty. Everyone knows we are in a mess from the
boardroom down to the playing staff but a bit of humility would do the guy the world of good.
I think generally people would accept Allardyce until the end of the season if he set us up to have a go against the weaker teams and actually played our best centre half rather than the geriatric duo or a centre half who needs to defend so deep because he has a wider turning circle than Gareth Barry with none of the nouce that accompanied him.
Take some responsibility, try and play offensive football rather than sitting back and letting teams attacking out league 2 standard right back who is poorly masquerading as a left back and people’s blood pressure will drop and we might pick up a few more points you massive Legohead!!
