Can you imagine Rooney at 18 under Martinez. Got to say I thought moyes handled him well. But the likes of Rooney and Barkley (arguably to of the best English talents since gazza) playing together as evertonians would make it extra special.

Yip, for sure.

I have said it several times on here over this last year.

Wayne Rooney would have became a different type of player under Bobby.

Ferguson turned him into a workhorse and made Ronaldo the star of the team.

Oh that he had remained with us and was now in his prime, handing the torch on to Ross :)

Just read this from an article on the Echo:

"
Amid talk of ambition and motivation, Eto’o was also happy to provide a full explanation of why he picked the number five shirt.

He said: “The received wisdom is that your numbers change when you get older.

“Five was available, so I picked that. I could have gone for 22, which is the birthday of my future wife.

“Maybe next year, if I change again, I will pick that one.” "

Isn't Pienaar our 22?

Agree. He got to acustomed to big wages and lost the hunger.

If he'd of been at Everton he'd of been playing for "his" club. But he was more interested in money.

Huh? But Eto'o has just signed for Everton? On a reduced wage by all accounts. Didn't know he grew up a blue either, more respect to him.
