When the news started to break about Eto coming to us I thought he is looking for a last payday. He will turn up take his pay and cause trouble with having a bad attitude. I then read a price about Martinez having talked to him and was won over. I still thought this will end badly, just goes to show what I know. He has been brilliant. When you look around and see what other teams have got for big money we have played a blunder there.

Exactly what I thought mate. Never been so pleased to be 100% wrong. Oh, and I assume you mean "blinder"!

Surely he's earned a starting place in the squad? Although I'm not sure how Naismith Eto'o Barkley and Lukaku can all get on the pitch at the same time. Who's the odd man out?

Him and Lukaku should definitely start together more often.

I'd love to see this at some point in the season:

Howard
Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
McCarthy
Mirallas ________ Pienaar
Barkley
Lukaku Eto'o

I said weeks ago that Eto'o should play behind Lukaku whilst Ross was injured. He certainly has enough in his locker and would be a lot more effective in that role than Naismith. He links the midfield and forwards up nicely and has a wide range of vision and passing that is essential for that role.

Wonderful team goal for the first but that second goal; thats the quality shining through. Thats the difference between a good player and a great player.

The thing with these threads is that he will be tu

He probably wasn't fit enough given he didn't have a preseason and he had a bit of a hamstring problem.

People are saying that eto'o has lost a yard of pace but he seems to be getting around the pitch pretty well to me. Not too many sides leave space in behind for us to exploit anyway so I'll take his sublime 1st touch quick brain and quick feet. Thank you
