Always loved Eto'o.

The 110 people who voted that he will be Martinez' Ginola...show yourselves!!!!!! :D

I thought he could be, until he retired from international football before the season started and that showed his intent.

I didn't vote though as I didn't think he definitely would be.

Fair enough...the guy just oozes class look how easy he made that pass to Osman look, just whipped it round like he's playing in his back garden. Broke my heart back in 2006 in the CL...but then I laughed like a maniac when he broke United hearts in the 2009 CL lol scored a hatrick against them last year as well and still playing at the top level. There ain't going to be another Eto'o that's for sure. I wish he had a stint at Arsenal.

Still has a lot more to offer than Drogba.
Drogba was a quality player in his day, but a huge aspect of that was his speed and sheer power.

His physical presence intimated defences and rightly so, as he could surge past defenders with ease due to his pace and strength.

That pace has diminished and he doesn't appear to use his physique as he once did (well from what I've seen).

Eto'o on the other hand has relied on his fantastic technique and ability to control a ball and read the game. He couldn't out muscle defenders.

Combined with his pace, it made Eto'o one of the best striker in the entire world. Drogba was top quality, but he was not in the Eto'o bracket.

Now while he is no spring chicken anymore, although he isn't particularly slow, his composure and technique on the ball are still evident to see.

That's why he still has so much to offer compared to Drogba as you say. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to accept he's actually at Everton.

just woke up....does.. eto still play for us? what a player...admired him as a kid,now seeing him in the royal blue, yards from me seat...amazing
Its great isn't it mate?I watched him warming up at the Gwladys Street yesterday in the first half and I'm thinking,Eto'o wow and he's ours, the fella genuinely appears to love the adulation he's getting as well:D

Loved that Rom ran over to Eto'o on the touchline to celebrate with him.
People keep mentioning that Rom is training with Ferguson. On a physical side that's great and something he needs to harness.

However, I'm pretty confident that it will be Eto'o who'll be offering him the most. Technicality, composure, experience; he has the lot to offer.

He may not be in his prime, but in ability it reminds me of watching your namesake, Latchford or Sharp. It's that kind of excitement.
