Not so sure on that mate.

I beleive we are trying to persuade him to stay.

Maybe but I think he's also glad to see the back of us, I could be wrong. I would liked to see him used as our main striker a bit more if he did stay as I think thats the way he should have been used. I think we've wasted him a bit.

simply put, if we don't replace eto'o, we have no chance of winning europa unless rom is fully fit to start every game, kone and mcalney as backups - ouch.

Really disappointing to make such a ground breaking signing and not utilise him in his correct/preferred position.

Agree that if we can get a decent right winger in then it might be worth it, but I for one am sad to see Samuel go.
Having said that, if he was causing/ a part of problem behind the scenes then it is for the best.

Chelsea at home, first touch, goal,Krasnodar away, the equaliser when we were struggling, and two crackers at Burnley,World Player of the year playing for the Toffs,I'll remember Sam,it was good while it lasted:)

Dear Samuel,

As compensation for the sheer disappointment I currently feel with your impending departure, it is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you that I have stolen your apostrophe from your surname. From here on in you will no longer be known as Eto'o but just a plain and simple Etoo. I have also took the liberty of changing your first name to Eric as that flows better with your new surname

Yours sincerely

Maccavennie

Equaliser at Krasnodar, but I agree entirely with the sentiment you express.

I really can't understand the fuss he's contributed very little in his time here.

Also it's a myth that he's not being played in his best position he's not played as a centre forward since his Barca days, besides about 20 odd games for Chelsea last season were he looked washed up most of the time.

Great player in his prime but he's been on the decline for a few years now. If we're recruiting has been players it's a backwards step from where we've been, hopefully Martinez has figured this out quickly and that's the reason he's letting him go.
