I really can't understand the fuss he's contributed very little in his time here.

Also it's a myth that he's not being played in his best position he's not played as a centre forward since his Barca days, besides about 20 odd games for Chelsea last season were he looked washed up most of the time.

Great player in his prime but he's been on the decline for a few years now. If we're recruiting has been players it's a backwards step from where we've been, hopefully Martinez has figured this out quickly and that's the reason he's letting him go.
21 games 9 goals.....if only we had a 'washed up' replacement lad...ffs

For a team chasing the league who scored 70 odd goals and created chances a plenty, not really good enough is it.

Did you really watch him last season and think that's the Eto'o who played for Barca or Inter?

9 in 21 is misleading. In terms of minutes played for Chelsea in the league (1298), scoring 9 goals is impressive. That's a goal every 144 minutes, so almost a goal every game and a half. That's actually really good.

And for us he was doing well at the start of the season. Grabbed a few goals and assists in not so many minutes. However later on he's been used in more and more ridiculous positions/roles (LM FFS) where it's very difficult to make a contribution.

A strange signing really. He still has bags of quality, but he needs to be utilised correctly, and we have not done that at all.

illiteracy amongst some blues is unbelievable too it seems ;)...

Read my post again mate....i said "once we're safely in midtable"....which I fully believe we'll be soon enough....we've had alot of bad luck over the past few months (injuries & poor refereeing decisions), and lost alot of form and confidence, but we have more than enough to stay clear of relegation...we'll be 9th or 10th end of the season...
Precisely, you said 'once', not 'if'. The illiteracy is all yours.

Lads we don't give out marks for good grammar. Chill.

Although I'd like to........

Now, discuss Samuel Eto'o and not literacy please.

33% of his goals came in 1 game, if he didn't do so well against Utd those stats would be pretty awful, as it is there just meh for a team challenging for the top and looking for champions league places.

On the subject of grammar, or rather, apostrophes, I have never fully trusted any Everton player with an apostrophe in his surname.

Samuel Eto'o
John O'Kane
Eamonn O'Keefe

Can anyone think of anymore?
