All builds have teething issues that get snagged and sorted
These aren't teething issues though, it's a massive infrastrucure problem that will cost a fortune to sort. No overnight fix here if you know the area

And Peel own it so whilst they might spend a few quid making it look pretty, spending potentially millions strengthening it won't be very high on their agenda.

I suspect it's more an issue with the dynamic load from a significant number of pedestrians walking across it in sync, as it is clearly capable of carrying heavy vehicle traffic.

How would a load of Everton fans falling into the river be for their business model?

Thousands will not be walking the same way given they get held back about an hour till the home fans have dispersed

True, but going OTT will just cause the people in charge to be a lot more flippant and dismissive of the legitimate concerns.
