Sandhills station

Cos it costs money and the Council has none.

As I said to Dave, walk around the City, ignore the private investment and you can see what a cesspit the region of Merseyside has become, a lack of central investment has decimated this region.

It's every council especially in the north.

It's why they've all pushed the council tax cap up

Why has only half the restriction been lifted? It's just going to make the area around the stadium hellish. Why not lift it for the entire area as many won't mind a 25 minute walk. Again, I don't get that one.

Ive not seen a reason why they haven't just allowed parking and set up charges. Absolute goldmine to be made.

No doubt thinking they'll sell that to a private operator.

Whack an overflow platform on each side for matchdays with stairs going down to the ground level and doors opening on both sides.

I dont get why this stuff is so hard really.

Cos it costs money and the Council has none.

If the will and resources were put in place improvements to Sandhills could be done pretty quickly.

Imagine if the Chinese state were were tasked with that: they'd have a pot of tea and then have about 3 platforms sorted in a fortnight and tell the rest of the city to STFU unless they wanted to sit in a prison cell forever.

Yes Dave, we all wished we lived in China, right?

I'm not advocating we be ruled by the Chinese Communist Party (although they might be preferable to Chairman Free Gear Keir).

I'm just saying if the will + resources + central control was in place this could be done in weeks rather than years.

The will and resources clearly arent there tho are they Dave.

But Burnham in Manchester is showing it can be done.

I think there'll be 'mission creep' there.

Probably saving face a bit for now, but the whole restricted area apart from (and rightly so) residential areas like the Eldonian Village and the flower streets in Kirkdale will come into play, Ild guess.

I know 'The Plan' says it cant be done, but 'The Plan' had a coach and horses driven through it earlier today.
