if we get back into europe we'd need a bigger squad, vlasic would come back but we don't want to have to be buying another two attakcing mids because we got rid of sandro, bolasie, klaassen, mirallas and vlasic - who are all good enough as a squad filler.

I don't understand this fantasy of the 'standard required' for EFC. We are not even regularly in the Europa League, so I think we are quite ok with the kind of players currently filling our squad, as squad fillers, and then when we step up to regular European places, we can talk with confidence about what is 'good enough for EFC'. I agree that Vlasic and Sandro might be decent squad players of the future, if they improve.

He’s busy and a strong runner, but busy players often flatter and he’s wasteful on the rare occasion he gets in behind a defence. He hits a good ‘heavy ball’ but rarely finds himself in areas of the pitch to utilise that strength.

I honestly think his best position could be as a right back.

Been linked with a move back to Spain earlier in the window, Valencia I think it was, could happen, I think the stumbling block is the wages, we might be able to get him out on loan or “undisclosed”.

If Silva doesn’t see him as back up to Walcott then we may as well get rid, the only way I can see him playing is as back up to Walcott, I don’t think he would play centrally ahead of Cenk Tosun or DCL
