It’s a joke(r) we get mugged off every year loaning players reducing their sell on fee

We are still a business at the end of the day not a charity
If rumours are to be believed, he’s earning in the ballpark of £100-120k plus per week.

Since joining us in 2017 (and including his loans) he has scored 1 (one) goal - 2 years ago (!) and registered 5 assists in 60 (SIXTY) games.

As an attacker, that is woeful.

So tell me, who is going to pick up his wages with those sort of stats?

You do understand how a contract works, right? If he agrees a permanent transfer with another team, unless they match or increase his wages, we have to honour the contract and pay the difference.

Who is going to pay that kind of money for him?

Eh? If we said “you’re never going to play for us again - even the reserves” and a team comes in willing to take him permanently, if he agrees to the transfer and a drop in she’s we’re not obliged to pay him anything. We release him from his contract and he gets his new one elsewhere.

Different if he says, “that’s fine I’ll rot but I won’t leave unless you pay me the difference in wages”

Far from ideal but at least he's out of the club.

No one would pay him a quarter of his current wage on the open market. He's here till the end of his contract.
They could offer him something like £5M and a free transfer as a pay off, it would be much cheaper in the long run.

He would have to agree to the contract offered to him. What’s his incentive to take a pay cut?

Why take 5 up front and only 2 over the next 2 years at your new club, when you could get 12m over two years.

I don't understand the greed in football. I think it's ridiculous and money shouldn't matter when you're already insanely rich. But that's how these footballers, with their agents of course, think.

Absolute farce this thought brands was meant to be finding buyers not loaners

We are probably paying 95% of his wages too as if a team like Valladolid could afford to supplement his wages

Marcel Obi Wan Brands (waving hand): 'These are not the droids strikers you're looking for'
Florentino Perez: 'These aren't the droids strikers we're looking for'
MOWB: 'Instead you want to sign Sandro Ramirez'
FP: 'We want to sign Sandro Ramirez'
MOWB: 'For 100m quid'
'FP' For '100m quid'
MOWN 'And Benzema'
FP 'And Benzema'
MOWN: 'And you'll pay Sandro 120k p/w
FP 'Excuse me?'
MOWN frantically waving hand '120l p/w'
FP Security, please escort Mr Brands out of the building and don't give him his lightsabre back the cheeky so and so....

So we paid him a full wage packet for one day before shipping him off? I think brands has done brilliantly tbh a loan instead of a perm sucks, but he's literally at his lowest value ever, he could have a blinder next year and we'll be able to demand a decent fee, so that's better than selling him for at best £1m this summer.

A lot of us weren't expecting any interest in him and at best a deal late in the transfer window, brands has saved wages here from the second day, good stuff.

Why would they offer anything for him, when they know we’re desperate to get his wages off our books and he’s free next season anyway?

People live in a world in which people just love kissing goodbye to 5m.

Lets see what our pal Winston thinks of this :

According to Bogarde, it would be next to impossible to find a team that would offer him a contract comparable to the one he had at Chelsea: he was astounded at the salary the club had agreed on, as his value depreciated severely due to lack of first-team action, and decided to stay and honour his contract to the letter and appear for training every day, despite being only rarely selected to play.[15] Of his contract he said, "Why should I throw fifteen million Euro away when it is already mine? At the moment I signed it was in fact my money, my contract"; in the end, he only appeared 11 times during his four-year tenure, reportedly earning £40,000 a week during this period.
