It was mentioned in Spanish press yesterday, and on a malaga forum, that we've agreed terms, it was now down to Sandro... possibly where the Atletíco rumours came from.

Being a pessimist that does not sound like a done deal. If he has an escape clause all we need to do is to bid for that amount and technically as between us and the other club the offer is accepted.

If we agree terms with the player's agent its not a done deal until he has signed.

Presumably he cannot sign until the start of the transfer window or is that simply the transfer can not take effect until then.

Just don't tell him about Arteta. The best little Spaniard we know, never got a sniff.

At his peak I always thought he deserved a call up. At least in some of the friendlies. But you need to remember at the time he was up against the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Alonso, Silva. Even Fabregas was only a squad player. Plus they never seemed to ever get injured. Spain at the time were out on there own in world football and midfield was their strongest area. It was just unlucky for Arteta I guess.

As brilliant as Arteta was that Spanish midfield was something else, as Barnfred highlighted the array of player they had was vast. Still the best little Spaniard we know, thou..
