Personally, i just think protests in general are pointless. They are there to recruit like minded or easily persuaded people, not to actually make a difference.

As ive always been a Sly fan, seeing him at Goodison with an Everton scarf coming out to the Rocky music, and on my birthday no less, it was 1 of the highlights of being an Everton season ticket holder for the last the last 28 years.

Sad i know.
Well it was your birthday, hope you enjoyed it. To be honest I could never stand the man but each to his own.

Never liked Sharp since I was 15 and his lad Chris joined my football team. He used to stand behind the goal instead of with the rest of the parents, the stuck up get. His son was crap as well but still made a decent enough career in the Conference no doubt based on his dad.

One man without his dog eh?

With the squad he had (so I'm not even going to compare rhe rabble we have compared to what he had at his disposal) it was a disgrace to finish 11th and 11th.

An absolute fraud of a manager who teamed up with another showman in Kenwright to attempt to blag anyone who would listen that everything was phenomenal.

Dreadful, dreadful manager.
Like i say, its all relative. In the 6 years hes been gone, we have spent £500m and only gotten worse. Ancelotti, who is arguably one of the greatest managers of the last 20 years finished 11th with James Rodriguez.

Martinez definitely had his faults, no doubt about it. But he also had his good points. He brought a bit of belief and unity back to club. He had ideas for the future and for the youth set up. He brought some exciting young players through who were mostly sold for massive profits.

Yes, he had a few bad signings, notably Niasse, but every manger does (Kroldrup, Bilyaletdinov), and the irony is, since then, Niasse has actually looked like decent value compared to some of the money we've spent.

My point remains though. The fans got angry and demanded his removal, and it became untenable, so he was gone. And so the cycle began. And since then, noone has been in charge as long as he has, and noone has managed to match what he did, even with multi millions to spend. And the fans remain unhappy, and continue to say theres no plan, while simultaneously, not having the patience to see any plan through.

Something does have to change. We cannot continue down the path we are on. And like i say, its probably too late for Moshiri and anyone involved to turn things around now, too much bad blood.

But if/when the change does happen, the fans attitude needs to change as well. The entitlement and impatience will not work. We have No god given right to win or to be successful. Noone does. 27 years, or 50 years, it doesnt matter. People need to get a grip and realise that yes, it sucks to not win trophies, especially when that lot do. But thats not why we support Everton, and if it is, you are barking up the wrong tree.

Well there's a vast majority of things you've posted there that I don't agree with Kev my pre birthday chum and so I wouldn't want to go into a tit for tat conversation about it at 10:55pm on a Friday evening.

One thing I will say is I don't think I've ever met any Evertonian who believes we have a "god given right for success" and I say that as a 44 year old man who was fortunate enough many moons ago to get to the majority of our home and away games. My son is 14, has never been brought up with anything but failure but has never once mentioned his "god given right" to see is win a trophy.

And the crap these kids get now due to the shambles that run this club....wow, at least when I was his age we had the odd Derby win and a soon tk be FA Cup win to pipe any scruff down with.

But we are Everton Football Club and we should hold ourselves to a higher standing than the vast vast majority of football clubs. Not out of any divine right, but because we are Everton Football Club.

Have a good evening and a fantastic birthday and birthday meal tomorrow mate and let's hope for 3 points to give everyone just a bit of breathing space

Cheers mate. And i do agree, honestly. Im 40 myself (for another hour). And ive had my Season ticket since August 1996 (Gary Speeds debut).

Im just not sure that the changes people are calling for are as informed as they seem to think. Mistakes have been made, of course, but i dont think its for lack of trying. Theres so much nuance to the situation, and yes, its frustrating, but honestly, theres an entire multiverse of outcomes from each decision that has been made, and supporting this team as long as we have, we both know that most of those options turned out to be the wrong choice regardless of what it was.

We are cursed.

But yes, i would love nothing more than for things to change and for us to be successful again. Im just not sure than constant unrest is the way to achieve it.

Something has to change Kev, not just you turning 41 you old sod lol

All the crap, all the let downs, all the failure, all the false dawns, everyone saying protests isn't what we do, it's Kopite behaviour....

We are Everton Football Club. That's your club btw, that's my club. We need to take it back my near 41 year old birthday old sod chum ;)
