2019/2020 The worst transfers for a season in our club’s history that. Absolute abominations the lot of them.

Transfer outgoings for the same period.
16/17 £54.72
17/18 £113.74
18/19 £25.79
19/20 £79.02
20/21 £ 3.98
21/22 £41.40

Total £328.01 mil

Thats from transfermarkt.

Btw
Zouma 7.11 loan fee
Sidibe 2.25 loan fee.
Convertered to Euro's = € 393.129 mil

Thats not accounting the obvious wrong figures for Zouma & Sidibe.

So according to transfermarkt
Thats a nett spend of € 219.671mil over 6 seasons = € 36 .611mil per season.

Interesting to see other clubs spending over the same period.

Thats is transfermarkt are legit like.

The problem is 17/18, if we had bought well that season we wouldn't be in the mess we're in now. A smattering of better signings in other seasons (although not great either).

What would be interesting - if anyone could be arsed - would be to look at the 4 or 5 or 6 best transfers in the league each of those seasons (with the benefit of hindsight) and play a game of the best we could have bought with the same money.

When I was interesting, I guess I mean depressing.

2017/18 was a killer. Look at the long list of absolute dross that was brought in then. You can only really make a case for Pickford being the only good signing out of the lot.
2019 also. Killed the momentum we had built up in the 2018-19 season. Iwobi, Delph, Gbamin, Gomes, Kean for upwards of 100 million.
