I would go along with that assessment, you'll have noticed I used the term "disastrous capitulation". There's no way Gerrard should be coming back. Things started to go wrong when he was here. I'm not in favour of sacking managers so early in the season, but I'm not sure how that scoreline can be tolerated.
Beale might be an option next season, depending on how he does down there.
Gerrard was the one who got rangers to that European final last season. They were his players with the organisation in Europe that he instilled into them.

No way a 9-1 aggregate scoreline would have happened under him.

Beale was apparently a big input into the mentality and strategy. If GVB is sacked he would have to be hot favourtite for that job.

I looked on your Follow Follow forum and they're calling it one of the greatest acts of humiliation in rangers' history...asking whether Gerrard could come back and a revolt against the current manger.

It was in your parlance "a right gubbing". Let's not pretend that game was part of a bad spell. GVB should have been sacked too. You should bring in Beale from QPR. He knows rangers back to front.

The little Orange-man loves to keep himself up to date with all things Rangers,it would seem??

As long as the domestic form holds up then Van Bronckhorst will be ok i think.

Honestly hope not - absolutely inept in Europe and it shows. The domestic form is still 'Gers at second, behind a lackluster Celtic as well... who beat them 4:0 recently.

Orange man is correct that Gerrard had his team disciplined and with a plan in games like that, Gio seems to be all PaShUn and no plan, which is a recipe for disaster against even slightly better opposition, which is a problem as that same opposition exists in the SPL and is the main title rival lol

Also ironic that dave is saying that about Gerrard, a RS, and Gio, the manager of the team he hates as much as the RS, because he's watched them under both, but denies to this day that this is exactly why Martinez had a great first season for us and got his favourite 72 points trophy. lol

We'll the Gio still has my backing for now, but if the domestic form collapses then there's going to be problems!

Mate? Celtic absolutely walked over Rangers, and I'm a Rangers fan as I've said here many times. This will happen against ANY decent opposition, as defending is based on nothing and has no organisation, while attacking is proper "pump it in the box", which works almost never.

Against the RS they got to dangerous positions only to smash a blind cross in - any semi decent defence will deal with that all day.

There's still time to turn this around, but i agree the situation is very concerning right now.

Has been for a while, but sure.

In Everton terms - Lampard came in with the 3-4-3 idea, saw it won't work and rallied the troops for the end of season. Now we have a plan and we're trying to play our way (even if it's still not exactly great at times, there's attempts). You can't go in on passion all the time.

Gio came in and rallied the troops for Europe, achieved great things but frailties were showing as it was mostly kamikaze football. Now the frailties are on full display.

The kopite had a good record against Celtic as well ffs Gio's been losing to them just about every single time lol

Reckon he gets sacked before the WC, personally if it goes bad at or before Aberdeen I'd sack him then and there.
