What's happened to the best full back ever, feining injury? , like most players that don't have the bottle, you can't switch on and off when you are a winner, winners want to play every game and win.

McLeish refuses to discuss his future......... No kidding!!
What does he actually do? Pick a team once in a blue moon and explain the subsequent defeat. A couple of coaches from the lower leagues in Scotland could do his job at half the cost.
I know but surely the manager's job is to at least instill some kind of fighting spirit and pride if nothing else. Otherwise there is very little point in having a highly paid guy in place. They may as well just form a panel of Scots coaches to pick a side every so often and tell them to get on with it as best they can.How he got the job I'll never know. He was a decent, at best, manager in the past, but his time was gone a long time ago.
Having said that, it isnlt fair to heap all the blame on the manager. The player have to take the majority of the blame, in my opinion. Shinnie looked like he had never played football before.
That’s the dilemma in this , both players and manager share the blame. Shinnie is a great example, his first start I think, a pretty poor display , he did indeed look lost at times positionally , and while not of the same calibre as Robertson and Tierney hes the type of player who a good manager can raise up a level for internationals. Hard to see him coming back from that performance which is a shame as he’s better than was shown yesterday. How he got the job I'll never know. Yeah, imagine losing to Iceland. How bad would you need to be for that to happen?![]()
The difference is that the Iceland result you refer to sparked a national football crisis in England, the manager lost his job and several of those players had their international careers basically ended that night.
This Scotland result is not even surprising. I would expect Scotland to lose to most of the teams in Europe, particularly away from home. I'm surprised the Scottish league still has professional accreditation, it's beyond pitiful right now.
Confused by this? If Iceland has half the population of Glasgow, on your basis surely Scotland should be more than capable of performing to their level?Well you did lose to a country with a population half the size of Glasgow. You do realise England has ten times the population of Scotland, don't you?
Iceland have shown that with the right organisation, you can get over hurdles like having a small population, but England fans talk as if it's a like for like scenario, like say Man Utd fans lording it over Liverpool fans, when it's nothing of the sort. Maybe if Scotland had ten times the amount of players to choose from they may do slightly better?
I do agree with one thing, Scotland losing to Kazakhstan isn't really surprising. If any of our club sides played a team from Kazakhstan it also wouldn't be a shock if the Kazakhstan team won.

Shinnie doesn’t play left back for aberdeen any more and hasn't for a couple of seasons. That’s the dilemma in this , both players and manager share the blame. Err, think you need to read my post again, I didn’t “dump the poor performance on him alone” . I used Shinnie as an example that “ he’s the type of player a good manager can raise up a level for internationals “. I didn’t expand on that , but for me that’s been a failure of successive Scottish managers , the ability to get players to raise their games for internationals , in the way Wales and N Ireland players do.Shinnie doesn’t play left back for aberdeen any more and hasn't for a couple of seasons.
Yes he played poorly but you can't dump the poor performance on him alone.
