Its amazing really. Like I am of a vintage that recalls tons of not just decent, but top quality Scottish players playing. We have had more than a few at L4 over the years.

But these days, other than the best left back in the world ever, it is pitiful.

The funny thing is their second best player is also a LB and neither really have alternate positions.

But really Scotland shouldn't be this bad. Fraser, McGinn, McTominay, and a few others are at least PL quality. They should be reasonably competitive for major tournament births.

When you compare their side to that of Northern Ireland you'd have to think that they're similarly matched, but O'Neil is a better manager.
 
Was McLeish doing that bad a job in hindsight?Big Eck is not as bad a manager as people make out.I think there was an agenda, to drive him out of the job.Players not showing up for international duty when picked.Disgraceful behavior.Scotland made their bed, and they now have to lie in it, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.

Did he used to manage Rangers by any chance? Thought so you're worst than them lot across the park with your Rangers propaganda and paranoia give it a rest.

He`s the Scottish Sam Allardyce, a dinosaur that`s somehow still in football management.

He`s just as repugnant as Allardyce too.
