They, the RS, were top until March, and are top now. We will never know if Celtic or the RS would have lost all or most of their remaining games during the normal course of the season but although money will, commonsense should just prevail. Man City may have caught Liverpool by making up 25 points on them in their remaining 10 games. Liverpool should just be given the league, but they won't be. Contracts must be fulfilled and all that. The Rangers would need far more than 8 games to make up 13 points on Celtic, and in the given circumstances the SPFL did the right thing in my opinion.
Why do you think Liverpool should just be given the league? I cannot reconcile anything else in your post with that particular judgement call.

I think that they should be given it without playing out the season. There is only one reason they haven't been given it already and that's money. The title is worthless if it is given to Liverpool now, or when they win it behind closed doors (they might as well play on Buckley Hill as behind closed doors). I don't think that games should be played until it is totally safe so to do. Ergo, give it to them. Until those cretins in Parliament sit as they normally do, not one child, worker or footballer should be risked.
Not a very popular opinion for an Evertonian, I know, but football really doesnt matter right now does it?

Why not though? What's your take on it and what's the way forward? None of us wanted them to win the league but if they are to be declared champions this would be the best way.

You sound like you want it though to be honest Emlyn.

I would settle for the dutch method.
You reckon Shevin? You're as far away from what I want to happen as it's possible to be pal. Maybe I should now ask you that instead of asking you what you would want to happen, what do you think will happen? This is more in line with why I gave you my answer. What do you think is going to happen?

Ok what do you want to happen?

I would want the whole season expunged from the records. I would bin VAR. I would revise the offside rule to what it was 5 years ago. I would go back to one sub to stop the big boys getting an advantage by stockpilng players. I would introduce safe standing. Not much of all that will happen anytime soon, so give them their asterisk and we go again next season when it's safe.

Honestly, I think the Premier League is finished in terms of the way we know it. I think there are too many hands taking pieces of the pie, (players, chairmen, sponsors, tv companies, the list is endless) and I do not believe there will be a way to resume that will please everyone. The Premier League facade has been pulled back to reveal a hideously contorted visage. It is now broken and I think it stays that way. We shall see.

I agree, but after you doubting my Everton credentials () I was specifically asking you about the resolution of the Premier League. I know what you want to happen, but I have asked you what you think will happen in this regard. How do you think this year's Prem will finish? I know we're going off topic here, so apologies to the lads who normally frequent this page.

Did I? How? And when?

I have just told, you, I do not think they will be able to resume the league, I do not believe a decision will be made that draws this season to any sort of close.
When you said I sounded to you like I wanted Liverpool to be declared champions. Post 7,342. I don't, but it's the only practical way forward. You say that you do not believe a decision will be made that draws this season to any sort of close. That's us left in suspended animation then.......

I do believe that yes, legal wranglings that drag on until the Premier League is nothing but a memory. Maybe football can be salvaged but not this bloated corporate version of it. It had a good run anyway, nigh on thirty years. Ties in with the post Thatcher capitalist economic policy I suppose, I believe Capitalism is dead now too.
