Agree to a point, yes he's not going to say it was a dumb thing to do, but he could have either gave a more sensible answer or asked that the question be addressed to the board, he's trying to defend the indefensible here and making himself look daft in the process.

Yes it's indefensible but I'm pretty sure he's on a loser if he doesn't seem to be backing up the club's ludicrous position, he could have just played a straight bat but possibly looks better to his bosses and for his career to just repeat the nonsense

Yer doubt you will get many bizzies on the street saying fining people for going the park is ludacris but am sure some think it

Nearly 9 years ago, Rangers were sent packing to the nether regions of Scottish football, but here they now stand, on the verge of being crowned champions of Scotland. Of course Celtic also played a part in their own downfall, with their arrogance bluster and self importance.

Of course it ain't over yet, but that potentially was the title clincher. But looking at it from my perspective, Everton despite yesterday's defeat have been in great form and Rangers are flying it. So apart from the covid situation, things are ticking along quite nicely.:)

You know that's not true. You know what happened.

Why do supporters of TRIFC keep repeating about how they were illegally demoted/relegated to the bottom tier of Scottish football when thy know that's now what happened?

Rot set in when Rodgers left. Getting Lennon on board was just a backwards step and Celtic board is being punished right now because of it. Writing was on the wall after the Copenhagen defeat last year.

I don't know what Celtic supporters thought they were getting with Shane Duffy, we released him years ago after failing to impress on numerous loans in the Championship. He's a Championship level player who was deemed surplus to requirements at a club fighting relegation.

I hadn't seen Duffy play. I had no idea what we were getting, but some people who had seen him said he was big, strong, and a decent defender, though a bit slow.

Turns out he's one of the worst players I've ever seen play for Celtic.

So the Celtic player who tested positive for COVID-19 is an injured player whose out for 4 months and is on crutches.

What training is he going to do? Is he playing in the next FIFA or PES E-tournament for Celtic?

Watching Celtic implode this season is like reading the fall of the Roman Empire. Not only have they got to deal with the arrival of the Huns, over reliance on loans and overspending, but they're also become lazy, complacent, and completely out of touch.

Spot on.

I'm not familiar with everything to do with bankruptcy and the law, including starting a new company with a different legal name and ownership, when in effect it's the same club with the same players, the same ground and the same fans, but surely this one can be laid to rest now. Whether it's technically a new club or not hardly matters, as it is in effect the same one for all intents and purposes if not legally.

Fixed it for you Chris

Look Celtic self destructing had a lot to do with this. With the penny pinching, trying to do things on the cheap, arrogance and complacency etc. But sure it is what it is. Look Everton are doing very well. As of now we are in contention for the title. Rangers are in a very good position at the moment as well. But on the footballing front life is good. I've got no complaints. It's just a shame that this covid thing is kind of marring everything. But hopefully by the end of the year, we might have things under control.

St Mirren and Kilmarnock have succeeded in having their Covid-19 forfeits overturned after a successful appeal.

St Mirren were issued with two 3-0 defeats and a suspended £40,000 fine by a Scottish Professional Football League disciplinary panel after being found to have breached coronavirus protocols when an outbreak forced the cancellation of Premiership games against Hamilton and Motherwell in October.

Killie were handed a walkover defeat and a suspended £40,000 fine when they also had their own clash with Motherwell postponed the same month.

However, both clubs insisted those punishments were overly harsh and took their appeal to the Scottish Football Association, who have now quashed the forfeits and handed out £20,000 fines, £10,000 of which are suspended.

St Mirren said they were "delighted" at the ruling, adding: "The Club thanks the Judicial Panel for their review of the case and their determination that the sanctions handed out by the SPFL Tribunal was excessive and inappropriate.

The decision of the Appeal hearing that the matches be rearranged is a victory for common sense and the reduction of the fine from £40,000 suspended to £20,000 with £10,000 suspended is acknowledged by the Club.

The challenges facing everyone throughout this difficult time have never been underestimated by the Club and, the Club recognises that it will always strive to do its utmost to protect its players, staff and as soon as is safe, its loyal supporters.

We hope that as we progress through this difficult time, no other Club faces the trials and tribulations that St Mirren and Kilmarnock have gone through and instead a common sense and supportive approach is taken by governing bodies to support members in unprecedented times."

Both clubs will now have to rearrange the postponed fixtures.

Killie added: "Kilmarnock Football Club is pleased to confirm that our case to the Scottish FA Appeal tribunal has been largely successful.

"The forfeiture of our Scottish Premiership match against Motherwell has been quashed and the match will be played at a date yet to be scheduled.

"The club is required to pay a £10,000 fine to the SPFL with a further #10,000 suspended until June 30, 2021."
