Hibs ended up getting humped by Rijeka whom I'd never heard of until recently.
Honestly, it's a reflection of how the club's stature has crumbled in recent decades. Hibs reached the semis of the European Cup in the 50s and had great battles with Leeds and Liverpool in the 60s/70s.
Now it's making do with B-list players and celebrating third place in the league last season after losing to St Johnstone in the cup final.

Perhaps, but Rijeka are constants in Europe, and it was always going to be a tough one, where they needed to win in Edinburgh to really stand a chance.

Rijeka, famously (well, less than i thought anyway!) had a run of 1 defeat in 20 home games spanning 15 years, beating the likes of Feyenoord, Standard Liege and Stuttgart... before getting blown out 3-0 by Aberdeen. More recently they've drew with Sevilla and beaten Milan and AZ Alkmaar.

So they're not the pushover you think. Hibs were in full control until that McGregor had an absolute shocked and got send off for a needed bring down.

Scottish football has gone pretty poor in the last 20 or so years, but the smaller sides, are getting closer. Potentially 4 Scottish sides could reach the group stage, and that's some decent achievement.

This threads been missing a couple of posters for a few days. Well when I say missing... they've been quiet I don't think they're being missed.

Laudo probably got his head stuck under the bench looking for his season ticket he threw at gerrard the other night and Ian Durrants keeping him there with his pants round his ankles. No sympathy for you fella. None at all.

I'm pretty sure Rijeka knocked Real Madrid out of one of the European competitions, maybe in the early 80's?

Coldest away trip of all time that. Nearly 14 years ago if I’m not mistaken. Won 3-2.

Two seasons ago, they were level with Ajax when COVID halted or they’d have potentially won the Eredivisie again.

Last season lost out on CL place on losing penultimate game to PSV, to PSV, who easily put away Midjytlland who knocked Celtic out, will be a hard one I think!
Sorry Missed your reply mate , It’s a long time since I can remember anywhere that cold , I’m sure it was something stupid like -10 .

great trip though .
