I’m a plastic Hibee but generally don’t mind Jambos outside of when Hibs play them

The few I’ve met in the wild have been sound and seem to respect The Toffees
Only positive thing about Scotland turning into a diddy nation when it comes to football is the absolute hatred for plastic clubs like City, Chelsea, PSG etc.

We’ve still got some absolute warmers but in general I’d say Everton, Villa, Leeds, Forest and the like are seen as a ‘big English club’ up here. Especially among the older generation.

Not sure about villa and forest mate.
But dirty leeds and the Scottish influence in the 70s are still very popular as some fans 2nd or English club.
And I'll say it again, the rs aren't as favourable up here as the media would love to believe.

I mean like if you were to tune into a Scottish football programme or radio show and people were say discussing a player/manger move down south then almost always they’ll say-

If it involves Chelsea/City: ‘I know they’re not a big club but they’re at the highest level’

If it involves Us/Villa/Leeds/Forest or whoever: ‘they might not have won in such and such years but they’re a massive club with history and an enormous fanbase’

You’ll rarely here English clubs being discussed up here without the caveats added. Which is quite right.

The madness that is the PL ,its amazing how Newcastle with its close proximity and short train journey, the roads a nightmare, haven't got a massive fanbase up here.
I'd say they got a 'wee tickle' during the Ginola era ,but that never lasted long.
Arsenal have grown in popularity since the Wenger glory years.

There used to be a supporters bus left Edinburgh regularly for St James' Park back in the 80s. I don't know the extent of their support here now.

I think you’ll see more and more Newcastle appearing among youngsters when they inevitably get a bit of success a decade down the line or so… [Poor language removed].

Mcinnes an ex rangers target looking like darkest Ayrshire his next port of call.
Meanwhile a couple of decent Don's players could be shipped out(cashing in).
Not sure getting rid when the club isn't exactly shining to bright, but....
