The technology is fine. it's the woeful application.

The absolute worst yesterday, and that's saying an awful lot. Huddersfield got absolutely screwed on two Jon Moss specials close together in the second half that VAR did not overturn. Two clear penalties not given, and on the first they even booked the Huddersfield player for simulation. Take a look if you haven't seen them. These aren't kinda-sorta bad, maybe it should have been given. These are indefensible.

There are Huddlesfield players who will never taste the PL and yesterday was as close as they'll ever get. Having rooted in vain for terrible teams as a little boy, I know that there are little kids whose rooms are decked out floor to ceiling in team colors who are shattered by yesterday and may never be fans again.

If VAR can't intervene when promotion is at stake then it's worse than useless, it gives the fig leaf of a solution but it just breeds cynicism and disillusionment.

Disagree entirely. Neither of the Huddersfield penalty shouts were justified. VAR is great in theory but is badly used. As it will always be subject to inefficiency on the part of the VAT officials, scrap it. It does ruin the game.

Nothing wrong with it, it's the weekly rule changes from the premier league that's ruining football, coincidentally those rule changes always seem to help the sky six.

If they have to have VAR then have a independent panel to over see like they do in Germany, it works much better than the refs all concocting their biases. Here it's actually entrenched incompetence and big club bias as far as I am concerned we used to get the odd decision now most go against us because two refs who are scared to go against top teams and or go against their mate even when its a clear and obvious mistake and nobody in the media cares. And the top six barely have a decision go against them..

You see those ‘penalties’ given week in week out in the premier league, the 2nd was worse than the first one.

I really hope there is a movement to get rid of this football-ruining waste of money next season.

Great thread.
Its damned if do dammed of don't really. It just feels more outrageous and harder to take when they have multiple viewings of all angles and all the time in the world and come up with a wrong decision.

But left up to the refs the decisions are more ridiculous and they hide behind the fact they seem it in the moment
