Love him unconditionally , he's one of the best things that have happened to Everton, but still dont think he should be captain or a starter next year. Good if we need to rotate, good in training I'm sure, but somehow we need a new captain on the pitch who can cajole, control, influence the players and stand up to the opposition and the referees. A bigger character. Don't have any suggestions though. A bold choice might be DCL or Godfrey, (sometimes captaincy can bring out discipline and consistency, and your best, and many top teams have had players Under 25 as captain - a safe choice might be Digne. But we need something big to change in our teamwork and leadership.

He’s club captain until retirement but definitely not a regular starter I hope. Seems like Digne and Davies are next in line judging from previous. Personally would give it to Allan if he can stay fit next season. He’s always in the refs ear and gives his all every minute as well as having a bit of class.

On another note, I hate people throwing snide abuse at Seamus. The lad was one of the most effective players we’ve had in my lifetime until he had a horror injury! Since then he’s still shown total commitment and made some big contributions but obviously isn’t what he was before getting snapped in half and can’t manage playing twice a week most weeks like we had to last season.

Coleman, Cahill, Baines are always the first players that come to mind when I think outside of our current first team.

Once we acquire our Lucas Digne at RB (whomever that may be) he'll be Baines'd out of the side. I like Seamus and the contract extension doesn't phase me at all, but he needs a replacement now.

So I'm guessing, with him getting another extension and the burst Spanish knacker refusing to buy in a new Right Back, that the plan is to get Coleman to suck down a few of those dodgy Kopite horse placentas and secretly Ivan Drago him until he is 40 and all his limbs explode?

We've needed to replace him for a couple of seasons. Making the same mistake as we did with left back. No doubt we'll do the same when Digne needs to be replaced.
