Why don't they "wheel" out the players that can't be arsed week in week out to explain to fans why? Instead of using Coleman to apologise for them.

Fully agreed, but not remotely Colemans fault. Nor can he be castigated for saying the sort of thing that all captains say. He also cares more than most of the playing staff and has been a good servant to the club. I just don't understand the attitude often found on here that once a player is past his best, he should be shot and melted down for glue. Supporter frustration at the club's failure to replace worn out parts is understandable, but sneers and hostility aimed at guys who are just trying their level best for the club isn't.

I don’t care if he tries his best for thousands of pounds every week when his best hasn’t been up to scratch for years. If he really loved the club he’d have moved on so we could progress.
