2021/22 Seamus Coleman

I quite agree.... and I wouldn't normally engage in a prolonged debate - but when someone wrongly infers from what I say and then goes on the attack about it to ridicule me then I quite enjoy the defense - for a while at least.

I really can't get my head around the hatred shown by some (fortunately I hope, the few) to Seamus. Fans? Certainly not supporters. Maybe some are rs amongst us who are trying to sow arguments about our skipper and extract the urine.

I find there is a mix of posters who spend an inordinate amount of time on this thread pouring vitriol on Seamus Coleman. They are very rarely seen in other threads.

There are also a number who have relatively recent accounts who again attack our Captain in this thread and spend lost of time in the rs thread with posts that are indicative of rs sympathies.

Contrast with those posters who openly state their support for other clubs, and engage in intelligent debate - they are a welcome addition to this Board.

I repeat what i have posted before - these other brave warriors are nowhere to be seen when Seamus plays a great game - the example you gave of his passion when scoring is an example - none of them had the cojones to give him any credit.

I really wonder about what drives them on in life - sad really, but then neither you nor I are responsible for their welfare.

I try to see the best in everyone. Unfortunately I have met some who simply are dripping with anger, and take this out on others, who do not deserve such attacks.

I ended my career after three years reporting to a very senior official who was the manager from hell. No matter what I did I could not change his attitude.

So 34 wonderful years then 3 nightmare years - in hindsight I should have sought a transfer earlier. I eventually demanded a move, and I worked happily over a different Division for my final 12 months. However, my enthusiam for my job was badly damaged because I stayed with that idiot too long.

What it taught me was to recognise early on, when one is dealing with someone who clearly has anger and other problems, that are not of one's making, it is essential to get oneself out of that situation asap.

The vast majority of people are good, and mean no harm. This is what keeps us going.

The tiny minority make lots of clanging empty vessel noises best to move away from that racket.

We're broke, so he'll obviously still be in and around the first team because we haven't got the resources to replace him and sort out the other problem areas in the team. However, he will continue to cost us goals. He's been a great servant to this club but if Lampard doesn't look to integrate Patterson (or somebody else) into the RB position this season then we will continue to have problems on that flank. Other teams repeatedly targeted him this season, they'll do so again next season and he's a year older.

So, to confirm...the RS would be:

A: The typical Evertonian who is annoyed / frustrated at Coleman either costing the team points over the season, arguing with matchgoing fans or just being a hinderence in general.

Rather than...

B: The Irish posters who consider Coleman to be not only untouchable despite putting in consistently below average performances, but a good player.. Those same posters that insult and personally attack others for having opinons on Coleman (on an actual Everton forum) after he costs the team.

You stick with those posters that dont actually support the club (just a player due to their nationality) and not the actual Evertonians....that you call RS.

I don't really understand what you're trying to say. I'm not calling anyone a rs - I'm just postulating that some of the rabid nonsense we hear about our skipper could conceivably come from a rs on a windup mission. They exist.
I get that Everton fans get frustrated and will have a go at players - I do the same, but seldom publicly as it serves no purpose. I dont get the vitriol and hate to someone who's been consistently very good and dedicated - but is admittedly suffering from age now. Its a bit over the top at times.

Grammar struggles and dyslexia are not related - don't try to play that card to a teacher - sounds like an excuse. My bro in law is dyslexic and also a QC - his son is dyslexic and is a dentist - two jobs you can do with dyslexic and hard work but not with poor grammar.

Show where you have evidence that I'm a psychic now would you? I'm fascinated to make a study of the way you think.
which characters do they play in your fantasy X-men game please?…… hey look I didn’t start the sentence with a capital letter ?

“In those eyes were the passion and relief of scoring and at the same time the sorrow for the errors he made before that in a game that cost us”…. The only possible way you could know this is if you asked him and not by looking at his pupils. and I’m nuts?

Those that can do, those that can’t pretend they are Professor Xavier

You should do your due diligence.

This is what happened after I called Coleman "right back Rondon"

Here's mine.

He is an absolutely substandard player...as is Jonjoe Kenny (No matter to me what nationality they are).

Find a thread where @Bluerover or this poster below use the same replies for an English player.

Its only in the Coleman thread.

Clearly these personal attacks on me are because hes Irish. There are no such comments from them in other threads.

I certainly havent seen any from them accusing me of being "racist" or "anti-Venezuelan" on the Rondon side of my post.

Reported for insinuating that Im mentally ill.

I'll just add this to the list of personal comments directed at me from these two posters:

Irrational hatred
Xenophobia
Sectarianism
Toxicity
Childishness
Anonymous abuse
'Problems'
Bullying
Mental illness

Reading such insults on an Everton forum by such people I wonder if their hero would be supportive of them.

I certainly doubt it.

Cowardly anonymous abuse @Bluerover called it.

Talk about hypocrisy. They wouldnt say boo to a goose at any of our fans who hes approached after matches last season to argue with.

Thats all in this thread as well.

So yeah, clearly fake and only focused on creating an anti-Irish agenda when posters call out Coleman.

As ive posted several times, I actually would like us to sign Gavin Bazunu....an Irish player.

Which again underlines these posters blinkered mentality.
Fantastic post.

Exactly the sort of player we need in and around the squad. Gradually needs phasing out but is a real leader. Look at the players lampard has played with and see his comments. When the sheet really hit the fan he helped drag us out of it. A fantastic servant who's time with us will soon be at an end.

everyone makes mistakes. how sublime/strong was he when he won that ball to set up the goal in the 427th minute of the newcastle match it stopped the rot and almost certainly saved our season.
