Yes mate, but in 53 years following this Club, I don't remember such vitriol. I know the net wasn't around until the 80s and that "social media" has really only taken off since around 2000.

I am also only too aware that the vast majority of Evertonians are fair minded, constructively critical, connoisseurs of fine footballers, who love this Club as much as they do.

The loud "warriors" are like the empty vessels making the most noise.
Mate, lots of Evertonians actively wanted Tony Hibbert maimed rather than see him play for us. We attract a lot of head-cases, we really do. :)

It's from a handful of usual suspects on here who took the wrong turn for Anfield.

Thank you davek... it infuriates me! Do any of these people remember when he was sought after throughout Europe and chose to stay with the club that believed in him?
Do any of these people not appreciate the loyalty so absent from the modern game?
Do any of these people not understand that just because a person's ability to do a job diminishes slightly, doesn't make them instant scrap heap?
Let this awesome man, awesome captain, who has soldiered on regardless of circumstance have some effing praise from our fans, he deserves it in spades whatever comes next.
Yea, I'm Irish, but I'm not biased. I was supporting Everton before Jackie Charlton reminded us we had an International team
Seamus is the bees knees, the wasps nipples, give him a proper Everton exit next season

This old chestnut.

There was never offer, not a single offer ever made for Coleman.

The only club captain I know to go into the away teams dressing room to console a player for breaking a team mates leg.

Imagine Dave Watson doing that ha.

100%. Absolute disgrace.

Yet if Coleman wasnt Irish you'd be singing a different tune.

You are so fake.

Agree 100% Good man. I know this forum is rightly a collection of mixed views on all matters (it has to be) but nonetheless those haters on here who constantly knock Seamus really need to look at themselves. I lie asleep at night safe in the knowledge that the vast majority of fans inside and outside of Goodison adore him because they see the love, passion, ability and service he has given to our club. It must be hard for the haters to get themselves off to sleep knowing this.
Excellent post.

Wow , I think that that is a bit OTT and unfair on a number of levels;

1. I think Coleman has been a wonderful player for us. By no means the most talented but always gave 100%. At his peak I've no doubt that we could have sold him for a very good fee. However he is playing now when he's way past his best ( not his fault ) and I agree that in my opinion he hasn't been a great captain.

2. @Bluerover is an intelligent , erudite poster . To call him "fake" is really disgraceful. I genuinely think that his opinion of Coleman isn't shaped by them sharing the same nationality. After all both myself and JJK are English but I still think that he's not good enough to play for Everton - so that's 2 things that me and JJK have in common.

Cheers Jazzy - I have had this highly intelligent, reasonable "contributor" and some others of similar posting quality on Ignore for some time.

I can't be bothered reading his and some others' hate filled rubbish.

Without Coleman we would have been relegated. If we had a captain like him every season we would do well. And looking forward to a player or signing taking the starting RB spot, its sad that management has stuck him in a spot where he still has to start most of the matches by not getting a replacement over the past couple of years until MAYBE Patterson.

You missed his eyes when he scored recently. In those eyes were the passion and relief of scoring and at the same time the sorrow for the errors he made before that in a game that cost us. If you didn't see that in the eyes you're the one who can't see the passion- it doesn't mean it isn't there. He's not dull. He lives and breathes Everton.
So you were one of the psychological “experts” on Amber’s team? That’s right up there with some of the best posts I’ve ever read on here ?

You should do your due diligence.

This is what happened after I called Coleman "right back Rondon"

Broken record Zat. You have maintained some irrational hatred for Seamus for years.

I just hope it is not some manifestation of xenophobia or sectarianism for your own sake, as it is a deeply toxic trait for the xenophobe, not for the target.

Against West Ham he was the only one who finally had a go at them, after ages of sitting off by the whole team.

Yesterday, he was still the best of a crap group of defenders. To compare him with Rondon is frankly childish and irrational.

Sorry if this offends.

No Zat, I loath cowardly anonymous abuse of any individual. You really seem to have problems facing up to what you are.

Putting you on ignore as I really dislike keyboard bullies.

Here's mine.

*sees post about a crap player*

First things that come to mind...

Xenophobia

Sectarianism

Toxicity

Childishness

Irrationality

Ahhh...its because he's from Ireland is it?

Wait.

Can I still call non-English players crap?

Or does it only offend you when theyre Irish?

I think I know the answer to that one.

"Right back Rondon"

Irrational hatred
Xenophobia
Sectarianism
Toxicity
Childishness
Anonymous abuse
'Problems'
Bullying

These 2 posts havent aged well....

Club captain argues with the fans two games in a row...

...time to go.

He is an absolutely substandard player...as is Jonjoe Kenny (No matter to me what nationality they are).

Find a thread where @Bluerover or this poster below use the same replies for an English player.

Its only in the Coleman thread.

Clearly these personal attacks on me are because hes Irish. There are no such comments from them in other threads.

I certainly havent seen any from them accusing me of being "racist" or "anti-Venezuelan" on the Rondon side of my post.

You need to get yourself looked about son!

Reported for insinuating that Im mentally ill.

I'll just add this to the list of personal comments directed at me from these two posters:

Irrational hatred
Xenophobia
Sectarianism
Toxicity
Childishness
Anonymous abuse
'Problems'
Bullying
Mental illness

Reading such insults on an Everton forum by such people I wonder if their hero would be supportive of them.

I certainly doubt it.

Cowardly anonymous abuse @Bluerover called it.

Talk about hypocrisy. They wouldnt say boo to a goose at any of our fans who hes approached after matches last season to argue with.

Thats all in this thread as well.

So yeah, clearly fake and only focused on creating an anti-Irish agenda when posters call out Coleman.

As ive posted several times, I actually would like us to sign Gavin Bazunu....an Irish player.

Which again underlines these posters blinkered mentality.

Erm you realise we’ve had him as a captain for a long time and not done well?
