Should a man of his age really be still playing international footie?
If he wants to. He is an experienced professional athlete, if he thinks he is capable of playing for his country and wishes to do so, barring a contractual ban on him playing internationals, there is no reason whatsoever to expect him to retire from international football. He is obviously as passionate about playing for his country as he is about playing for his club. No shame in that.

No shame at all in that.

Reaches a point though where he needs to slow down, not for Ireland's benefit, or Evertons, but for himself.

Keep pushing his body like he is doing, while he's doing it for good causes close to his heart, he may suffer the consequences for that years down the line.

I think this season is his last and he may well have made that decision and be pushing himself through to the end of the season on adrenalin. He's amazed me this season, I really didn't think he had this level left in him week after week. He's been a great example to players who were, at times, not giving as much as they should have. I really can't begrudge him a couple more caps

So you don't believe a player of his age, who has shown previously games can catch up on him fast, wouldn't have benefitted from having a nice two week break instead of playing an unwinnable game vs France?
I don’t believe either you or I are placed to tell an experienced athlete what his body is capable of.

The amount of injuries Everton pick up in training sessions anyway does put a question mark over your point.

I don’t know what dyche is doing in training, whether it’s overall or individually tailored but in Coleman’s case it certainly appears to be working .
I think it’s just dyche telling him to do what he can do and not make him do something he can’t do. At his age he can’t be asked to be pushed up the pitch constantly, he hasn’t got the pace he had to get back. Think the set up now where we sits back and he chooses went to go for an overlap suits him. His experience on reading the game helps him a lot. Think over last 10 years he has certainly been one of the best right backs in the prem. He should get more praise especially when you consider the amount we paid him for and the amount of games he has played for us. Best business in prem history for me.
