£4k a season is crazy in modern terms. There can't have been a bigger bargain in PL history, surely? Particularly when you consider he's never been on crazy wages.

Especially as for a guy that runs his heart out each week and never shirks a challenge this is a pretty great injury record so he has been available to play for very long spells of his 15 years,
