2024/25 Seamus Coleman

It would be good if Seamus publicly came out and said this is his final six months at Everton. The fans could give him a worthy send off and hopefully he could get a few more games before the end of the season.

We all know that he'll sign on the dotted line if a new contract is put to him though. That surely can't happen.
who here wouldn't?
It's reasonable to be annoyed by players who don't put in any effort or publicly agitate for a move or talk poorly about the club and team mates or turn up late to training and are always caught on camera out clubbing the night before a game or some such.
But none of this is Coleman.
He's a player who always gives his all, clearly loves the club, clearly is a great motivational force behind the scenes, does a ton for EITC etc
but people here are annoyed with him because he didn't say no when the club offered him a contract extension?!?

The attitude to Coleman here is akin to those farmers who have no use for an old collie anymore so take it round the back of the barn and finish it off.

Absolutely abysmal. The lad cost us £60,000 and handed in 15 years or so of very good service, but now his wages are an issue.

And some of the comments on him go way beyond football too...as per him 'biting his tongue more than most other people'.

Utterly 'kin contemptible. The people who are doing this are worth about millionth less to Everton than Seamus Coleman has been. Microbes denouncing a giant.

I like him as a person but feel he has let the club down by carrying on playing for Ireland when the club who pays his wages needed him more.
From various reports its Coleman holding squad together pitch wise and putting fire in their bellies. Reckon we are lucky in that context. Don't think Coleman still being a player for Everton would be an issue if the person who is the replacement was not older than him.

Blimey just as well I didn't mention giving Patterson a run of games to see if he can make the right back spot his.
