2024/25 Seamus Coleman

I was a big fan of his after we signed him. So much desire.

Now I think he's a bit of a wage thief clinging on to contracts while focused on his national team...him offering comfort to the bloke who smashed Gomes left a sour taste with me.

No idea if he and Baines will be good together but I'd be delighted if Coleman found this to be his 'calling' now...and he was good.

Rallying cries have a meaning and a purpose now.

State of this thread. Luckily Goodison and our amazing travelling support will be behind him and Baines for as long as they're in charge even if the odd keyboard warrior isn't.

It's not a mad reason.

I just think he should have retired by now, especially at international level - only people like yourselves cling onto the idea he can still offer us something on a PL wage just because he has the same accent you do.
you see this is the thing. It's not because I'm Irish
I had no time for McGeady or Darren Gibson,
I thougth James McCarthy was unlucky with injuries but wasn't overly bothered about him.
I really liked Kilbane but not bothered when he left.
So no, it's not an Irish thing,
In fact your pinning it on my accent and your griping about everton and celtic fans kinda points to the accent being a 'you' problem

Frank lampard extolled the virtues of Seamus Coleman and his importance in keeping the club in the PL. That saved the club tens of millions.
He's the club captain, cost 60k and has never put a foot out of line
but you dont like him because he takes a wage or is selected by managers or still wants to captain his country.

You're pissed off because you want more from a man whos given everything for Everton.

It's mad to me because all your other takes are reasonable.
I dont get it.

See you started off really strongly, but then the absolute tosh you strolled out towards the end made me really think it is just because you're Irish.

He cost nothing, he was once amazing for us, he now cannot stay fit whatsoever, he keeps going to play for Ireland and coming back injured, I don't care what he's like in the dressing room he is just sucking up a wage and squad place for no reason.

Go back to Sligo for a final year, or retire and do your badges, I don't mind him being at the club I just don't want him as our right-back anymore. He's 37 this year and can't handle more than 1 game in a row.
