We coulds do with someone better to be honest. Coleman has it in him but this year never seems to be bursting past players etc
That has a lot to do with Del being in front of him being capable of bursting past players all by himself, before Del came in Coleman was expected to be a full back and a winger while Naismith tucked in.

Coleman is playing very well and has learned when to stay back this season.

Coleman isnt a Martinez signing. I wonder if he would be the type of full back he would want if he had a choice...

I wonder how Bellerin does with Deulofeu for Spain u21s...

Also, note that Martinez has actually played Galloway above Garbutt at left back. So much more defensive, and Browning at right back when coleman was out.

Could be that Martinez favours "Hibbert" types over "Cafu" types...

He's exactly the type of full-back Martinez wants, Zat. He's easily in the top five right-backs in Europe. He's played Galloway and Browning out of necessity

Is it just me or does he just not attack into the box from the wing as he used to?

Gery is kind of stealing the show at the moment.

I still consider he and Baines to be our best players. They look worse than they are at times because they are still adjusting to a very youthful lineup (Mori, Gerry, Stones, etc.), and honestly most of the goal scoring opportunities are a result of bad communication and lapses of concentration of our two centers (and Howard not claiming 6 yard box crosses). They are probably our best players on the ball, but they don't seem to have the same link with the wingers like they did before.

We need to remember how dominant they were in the jags Distin partnership; I think the lack of experienced players around them is causing problems.

No real balance on the left for Baines so i imagine coleman is hanging back due to this and Deulofeu being so attacking.

Also Barry has no legs to cover.

There we go, the Barry has lost his legs thing again.

Mad how he seems to end up covering all across the pitch in important places when we need him most.

Obviously he's a good 18 years older than Zat likes him though, the dirty beast.

Zat, how can you look at data like this and then claim that Barry has no legs to cover? Yesterday he was all over the pitch making tackles, clearances and interceptions, He may sometimes get to a challenge late but so do all defensive midfielders - at least he is usually aware of the danger and making an effort to stop it even if it means being a bit snide.
