Also if you go right through the Coleman threads, like most other players he’s took a lot of stick on this forum too at times. Luckily we know what he can do and stick by him whatever. We should remember this with all the younger players.
Always had class. I hope the young lads come good, but some on here put them way way higher than they are or ever will be

Aye, your great accountant's insight would have had us fob off a loyal world class RB we bought for 60k as soon as he broke his leg.

Its been one game pal.

Fact of the matter is it was a huge risk giving an extensive contract to someone with a double broken leg. Would you be so keen if it was someone like Martina? No, didnt think so.

And as for world class...at times, very rarely.
Loyal? No footballer is loyal.

So you think it’s right for a club to renege on a pre agreed deal just because the player gets injured
I’d be shocked if that lot in the pit done that never mind Everton
Football doesn’t work that way thankfully

With respect, was it common knowledge that it was pre agreed prior to the injury? I am not so sure it was.
Football works in worse ways I agree.

Like comparing Cafu with Hibbert

And this is a lad who you reckoned shouldn’t have been given a new contract because he was injured , even though the deal was agreed just not signed.
It’s just as well the club have a bit more class than that.
There was no guarantee that he was ever going to be the same following that tackle, and for Everton to commit 15-20m to him on that basis was high high risk. I am delighted it looks like he’s back to his best but I would still query it if we did it again.

You could see the emotion he felt with the reception he got, he alluded to this in his interview. As ever (being the true professional he is) he spoke about putting it to the back of his mind, as he wanted to concentrate on the game. Allardyce spoke of him being a role model to all young players at the club. He has a real connection with not only the fans, but also the staff at the club. How he isn’t club captain, I will never know. Leads by example, every time he is on the pitch and a real ambassador for the club off it.
