Respect for keeping us up and getting us through a really difficult season last season but it’s time to move onwards and upwards.

Turns out he left TFG with no choice. They wanted to discuss transfers, he said he’d taken the club as far as he could (stop, my sides!) but he stopped short of resigning. A coward to the last. Don’t need quitters like him who flake under the first sign of real scrutiny in a relegation fight. He hasn’t had a proper boss in nearly 2 years. Hopefully the last beneficiary of the Everton gravy train.

Any manager that brought us some of the direst and worst football in our history, and any manager than does a Mike Walker or Rafael Benitez by going four months without a league win gets no appreciation from me.

He did well to keep us up after he took over from Frank Lampard i suppose, but he's only just about above the likes of him, Walker and Benitez in the rankings for me.

The new era at Everton starts for real now thankfully!

LOL @ this thread @davek but in the interests of balance, 48pts last season was no mean feat. The vast majority of my beef with the guy is how far backwards he has since taken us, and he’s had the Jerry Halls to blame it all on issues from before he arrived.
