Before I say anything, I'm a neutral, I've just always enjoyed this forum and Everton fans have always been fair to me and my opinion of their club, so here goes...

Obviously Sean Dyche didn't do a great job, but its a bit strange people expect more out of the manager of a team that is absolutely crap. You've got like 2-3 Premier League standard players in your squad, the rest are Championship at best. You have a ST you brought in on loan that injured himself kicking the ground while trying to shoot, wingers that don't create anything, and a core midfield/defense that is well into their 30s. That isn't on Sean Dyche.

Now, clearly the football was getting worse, and other than announcing it the day of a game I'm not shocked he got sacked. but whoever comes in to replace him is going to be in big trouble unless they can essentially flip that whole squad, and quick. Hopefully your new ownership knows what they're doing and kind bring in someone to stabilize to the summer.

Good luck!!

Couldn't stand the guy's brand of football, but it got us through, helped by some luck of course, especially at the end of his first season. Guy didn't panic or let the situation overwhelm him, which I think as really important. Lampard was wilting.

For me, last season is really where he deserves a lot of credit. I think he's very limited as a tactician and the 13 game run was stressful, but he didn't wilt or panic when left to essentially front for the board and scrape through with a squad that wouldn't look out of place in the Raggy Dolls cupboard. Again, got us through.

This season has been grim. Some of his recent utterances have been a bit weird. He's run his course. Definitely not a manager one can love, but he's played his part in a difficult part of our history.

Onwards.

There is a lot of rubbish in the squad no doubt, but also a LOT of players were badly underperforming as a direct result of the management. They may not be top 6 players but they're better than what they've shown.

(Some are just utterly abject though, yes)

Kept us up, had to reduce the squad value by £72M, had an 8points deduction, wasn’t even in the relegation spots with a dreadful squad full of frees, loans and overpriced punts for the future who were never good enough.

We have 3-4 players at best.

Let’s see the next manager do as well with the utter turd of hand he was dealt by the board.

Credit for last season under the circumstances and ending the Derby hoodoo but let’s not forget there were a couple of fortunate incidents in the half season before that that could have sunk us before Douc’s goal v Bournemouth and he was veering dangerously close to gaslighting territory at times this season

Overall he did a pretty good job first 18 months so I'll thank him for that.

The last six months have been awful to watch and I think he'd run out of ideas which is always a problem with the type of football he plays.

The subplot will be Leicester continuing to lose the next 2-3, they sack Van Nistelrooy and a proven relegation scrapper is right on their doorstep probably ready to come straight back in.

Failing that can see him being Leeds manager at some point in next 12 months. He'd have kept them up in 22/23.

Respect him for coming and keeping us up in crap circumstances. Alas, like most if not all the managers that have come in since Moyes left things started going downhill rapidly after 18 months or so. Needed a change. Seems like every manager has an 18 month best before date at the club. Don't know if that's down to the manager, players, the club or a mix of all 3
