2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Can someone explain to me why Dyche would sub off DCL (who admittedly wasnt good, even though he was alone and being provided with nothing) for Beto and then move Keane up top with Beto? Why not leave DCL up there and play both strikers? Or someone with place to run off the headers Beto wins?

He only moved Keane up coz McNeill was injured didn't he?

Southampton like to play out the back. Play Dom and Beto in a 2 and pin the centre halves, press the sh** out of them, and use our fullbacks as width. And when our fullbacks are leggy, bring on i don't know, maybe another fullback. After all, we only have 3 sat on the bench.

Jep, if we play like against them in the cup or Fulham this game will end with a draw/loss again, but if we get stuck in harder like against Ipswich, give them no room, I am sure we will win.

The way Everton set up and play under Dyche absolutely disgusts me.

I could sort of understand it if we were playing City away but Fulham FFS , Fulham at home , dear god

I'm sorry mate that is just nonsense. Did you actually watch the crap slop that Dyche served up today?

Different view points innit. Fulham are a good side. We're just finding our feet after a poor start. Got a point.

Move on.

So we’ve got one win against 4 teams at home who finished no higher than 10th last year. Woop-de-doo. Without the points deduction we actually finished above 2 of them last year, level with another and a point behind the other.

So what is it? Dyche not good enough to...get the same amount of points he got last season? After 9 games.

What's the benchmark for a disgusting dinosaur manager? Can't be what he did last season if he's that bad, can it?

I said almost exactly the same thing immediately after the match yesterday, for large periods of the game we completely surrendered possession to a team we’d what have gone level with ? I find it so utterly frustrating, I’m convinced at stages of the first half the possession count must have been 60% plus to them and it feels criminal . I haven’t seen any post game but I suspect even in the dressing room the manager will feel partially satisfied and think ‘one lapse ‘ has cost us 3 points . Sigh

As regards branthwaite it feels mad that the lad considered not just our best player but our best defender despite being fit started on the bench . If VVD returned from injury for the RS do we think slot would leave Joe Gomez in there because they’d had a win ?

I think that's me checked out until he's gone, I turned off after 10mins yesterday, I don't want to watch Fulham have a kick about. The lack of attacking intent is shameful, last season at Goodison as well, do the right thing Everton, if anyone is able to pull the trigger do it(probably a wrong analogy there them being gun toting Muricans)

It's bad as I can remember, if you are going to play that way you have to win games, that is why other such defensive managers get the jobs they do even though the style might not be great, winning stuff will let you gloss over it because the euphoria of winning takes precedent. When you're getting dominated at home by other mid table sides, then it's no longer tenable.

Anyway, I've not been well so I'll be disappearing into lurker mode again. Have a good day Blues.

Are we not entitled to expect some form of progress, development or advancement after a Summer in which new players have been brought in for a manager who has been here for 20 odd months? Are we just stuck in this doom loop of watching the unimaginative dross he serves up and excusing him? My point was that the teams we have played at home (bar Newcastle) were our peers last year yet we’ve only managed one win against them this season. The reason being that the PE teacher on the sidelines is a limited coach with appalling in-game management skills.

He wasn’t planning on moving Keane there. It only happened because of McNeil’s injury. I’m not defending him but that change was made after DCL went off.

Of course. But then you can't have a go at others who just want points on the board or have a bit of perspective.

End of the day there's a few things - He won't be here next season, we have new owners coming in. A hard reset happens. There's a thing called consistency which we and lots of other sides don't have hence why we'll end up mid table again.

Even if he turns us into 2000s Barca for this season, it'll be reset by owners with new ideas.

I can't be getting all upset about him especially when we're picking up points.

I don't think he'll get sacked. He deserves it but I just don't see it happening. Despite us being shocking, its very obvious that there are easily three or four teams worse then us, which makes his job very easy. Relegation dodging is at best, all he's capable of achiving. I think he'll see his contract out and go away in the summer, all while spinning his time here into far more then actually was, he'll probably earn himself another job out of it.
once the new owners come in, the fans will demand he is sacked 😉

They were our peers last season, then how much did Brighton net spend that summer? And what about Fulham? Look at the calibre of players they brought in. Now how much did Everton net spend?

In Fulham’s case, if both managers haven’t changed and one side has spent more money than the other then would you not expect them to be a bit better?

People seemingly just ignore the opposition when throwing about some of these shouts. Fulham are a good team who I believe have a better squad than we do.

I think people still think of Fulham as being a side with Simon Davies in it. They've recruited well.

The amount of lads I’m speaking to who are saying the exact same thing.

They’ve just stopped watching us, as it’s ruining their weekends and wasting a lot of money in the process.

It’s like Allardyce re visited all over again.
