2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Christ, we are into November tomorrow and he still talks about players getting fit, didn't they come back into pre season early July? 4 1/2 months ago

meanwhile we continue to conceade goals late in games and never touch the football for longer than 10 times in a match
He's half killed them with his archaic "Gaffers days"🙄🤣🤣🤣

He’s the only manager who’s actually managed to get DCL playing consistently again. Maybe he has a point on the fitness thing?
Not true actually. Carlo Ancelotti got 33 PL games and 16 goals out of him and 5 goals in 6 cup games out of him in the 20/21 season. Nobody else has even come close, this fella included regardless of his daft PL fit comments. There is only match fit, none of this other bollox he makes up as an excuse for being unprepared and crap.

Other teams look fitter than his

They didn’t last season coming down the stretch mate.

I think he does high loads up to Oct/Nov, then tapers off, hitting peak fitness coming down the straight.

It comes up in o other sports not so much in football, but there is often strategies around when to peak your fitness over a season.

An observation would be we need to use the winter break better this year, go away for warm weather training, Xmas programme last year destroyed us. We got the recovery all wrong.

Every single manager in the league wants their team to be the fittest. Anybody who thinks otherwise is a buffoon. The only things that throws a spanner in the works for them are injuries, knocks, and the fact that some players are just naturally fitter than others. C Ronaldo vs Rooney or Scholes for instance.

He was clearly talking about the players who aren't at full fitness yesterday, yet some idiots are taking it as him saying none of our players meet his fitness requirements just yet. With some crying out that pre-season was 4 months ago

As for the pedants getting angry about his use of the term Prem fit. Well, it just means fit enough to start matches in the premier league. That's not even up for debate. It's pretty self explanatory. It's not a new concept, but if people want to get angry about nothing, I'll not be bringing it up again.

Also seen people getting angry about the term Dyche fit. Saying he's gone from saying 'Dyche fit' to 'prem fit' . Has Dyche ever actually muttered the term 'Dyche fit' or is this just another example of the sheep getting angry over nothing again?

His persistent recurring injury problems came after Carlo Ancelotti? When Benitez forced him to play with an injury…

The problem isn't with fitness, it's with the fact that most managers now make 5 substitutions in every game, usually starting at the hour mark. This means that half of the outfield players are fresh at the end of the game. This is the way the modern game is now, and if you don't plan to do the same, you will struggle at the end of games no matter how fit your players are.

To be fair we need to fitter than every other team in the league seeing as we spend every game chasing opponents like a cat with a ball of wool because we never have the football.
I`ve only watched the tv games this season and have noticed a lack of chasing opponents until they approach the final third.

Yeah, sorry mate, I was a bit lazy with my original reply and didn't really get my point across.

I was making a point about fans hounding managers out because they don't like their style. Booting Allardyce from here arguably never paid off. We could have saved a bit of money, and had an actual bit of stability for another season.

Newcastle fans hated Allardyce and he got legged. They welcomed back Keegan with open arms and no shortage of glee. They got relegated the next season when everybody thought they were too good to go down. That was after Keegan threw his toys out the pram because he wanted money to "break into the top four" - their fans backed him. He resigned a few days after the transfer window closed. You can still smell the turmoil today, and history shows that it lead to their relegation.

Spurs fans hated Nuno and Mourinho, but booting them hasn't really paid off.

West Ham are on a never ending loop. They too legged Sam, and have since legged Moyes twice 😂

Coincidentally Blackburn also went to crap after sacking Sam, but I'm not sure their fans particularly disliked him.
Sacking Sam Allardyce didn’t have anything to do with the mess the club is in, hiring Sam Allardyce was a symptom of the mess the club is in.

DCL fitness issues have been a problem post Ancelotti. Benitez and Lampard failed to resolve them but Dyche seemingly has.
