2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

On the one hand....

Played Keane over Branthwaite vs both Fulham & Southampton where we needed his recovery pace.

Strange subs in both games.

McNeil not trained and starts for 90mins when others dont get back in the team

Low posession in both but i dont care about that as we had chances to win in both.

On the other hand

Today
Red card not given
Harrison miss
Beto miss
Beto goal not given
No final ball about 8 times

Are the players to blame? Dyche or both?
Both. Unquestionably both. Neither the squad nor the manager are good enough.

this is a man who started mcneil who had been injured all week and hadn't trained but benches a fully fit branthwaite

this is a man who will start a striker who doesn't care about this club and is leaving at the end of the season and is one of the worst finishers in the league over Beto who has shown heart and desire and has scored goals off the bench

this is a man who assaulted patterson

this is your leader

enjoy

peace up A-town

Both obvs, but he's in charge and as others have said, is clearly at the end of the road and out of ideas, so...

We need some serious signings and alot of movement January and summer

How Keane, DCL & McNeil start is beyond me

Mad thing to say but feel bit sorry for the players (not as much as the fans like!).

But they obviously hate this 'style' of football.

No one plays like this and haven't done for a long time.

It's the totally submissive approach to every game that gets me - sets them up like we're playing City every week.

Our squad isn't the best, but it's not the worst. As a player you want to be able to express yourself and play with a bit of freedom, esp. against teams who are bottom of league/just come up.

I've absolutely no idea what Dyche and his staff work on from week to week. The players must be bored to tears.
The players are also culpable for the absolute dross served up if they can’t even play a five yard simple pass, but agree……can’t be enjoyable playing this type of defensively minded football. Someone mentioned before that we play counter attacking football. I’d probably take the word ‘attacking’ out of that description.

Clearly Dyche has to take ultimate responsibility, but we do seem to be stuck with too many players, notably the main strike force, who couldn't hit the proverbial Dave Bassett bovine posterior with a stringed instrument. Very frustrating.

He didn't have us ready to start the season. The players were totally unfit and we had a ton of injuries before kicking a ball.

Despite all this he refused to use the new signings. He now has his best player back fit but won't play him. He won't drop our centre forward even though he's playing very poorly and running out of contract.

And above all, he sets us up every week like a lower league side trying to get a replay in the FA Cup third round

Completely unacceptable start to the season and some of the most dire management I can remember at Everton.

He's simply not good enough to manage this club.

On the one hand, that’s all stuff he had control over but failed to sort.

On the other hand, that’s all luck, and we shouldn’t be relying on that.

He’s passed his sell-by-date with us and is starting to stink the gaff out like a rotten scotch egg.

But I don’t think it matters what fans think, there’s no way new owners are going to stick with a manager who gives a win to the worst team in the league like that.
