2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Just reading an interview with Begovik where he mentions Dyches ‘wheel of punishment’.
Genuinely expected it to be some sort of medieval spinning rack like this;

when its just a wheel of fortune type scale of fines.
Who would have guessed.

😆 🤣

Just missing Pattersons head on the fella for the wheel of torture.

It's a difficult one though, especially with under 21 games often being on the same day now. There's no point just picking a random kid to put on the bench for the sake of it, you want them to have earned it in some way. Some of our best prospects have left either permanently or on loan now, Armstrong is already on the bench and Dixon appears to be the next highest rated but we've already got 2 right backs on the bench anyway so whats the point in calling him up again. I'm not saying we shouldn't do it but I just don't see it as a big deal at all.

I wonder if the switch to five subs and also the changing roles of goalkeepers in the game is changing managerial thoughts on this.

3 subs, smaller benches, and a goalkeeper kicking it out his hands every time whilst rooted to their line produces only a certain risk reward pay off of for having a 2nd sub GK in the bench. We did however see more of outfield players going in goal due to goalkeeper injuries or sending offs.

Now that there’s bigger benches and more subs, and GKs are expected to handle the ball with their feet a lot more and sweep a lot higher up the pitch, the risk reward changes. There’s far more keepers getting red cards, more keepers being clattered in one on ones, and quite simply if you’ve got 5 subs and a massive bench why not just take the risk out of it with another keeper. I’m sure if Keane suddenly had to go in goal for us we’d have the usual lot on here calling us an embarrassment and something out of the 90s so 2 gk subs for me genuinely doesn’t seem like the worst idea in the world in the modern game, especially for a small squad like Everton when our outfield quality options to change a game are limited.

….ha, ha, I will always stick with the view that Dyche’s achievement last season was remarkable but that does not give him a free hit now.

Absolutely.

It gave him a free hit at continuing as manager continuing his contract.

As pointed out in the past on here I wanted Dyche gone but it was not going to happen in the end, at the end of the season. Most people come to the conclusion he should carry on.

This point of view was in my opinion totally undermined, totally blown out the water, with a) the pre-season disaster and b) the 4 straight defeats at the start of the season.

Just like last season. It looked like Dyche had not learnt anything. There was no progression. It's was almost as if it was a complete reset too. Remember we had the "high" of those results at the end of the season. Every reason to be optimistic.

Dyche Dyched it. Put the brakes on.

Forget the season, it's just about staying up, getting to BM. Whatever.

I've been saying that since his first day here and I was apparently wrong, but saying it again just in case - Dyche will NEVER learn. He will be the same Sean Dyche as he has been and will not improve.

Until he leaves, it'll be the same story. Like being stuck on Groundhog Day.

Bill Murray waking up every morning to Sonny & Cher's 'I got you babe' over and over again, until it drives him to the point of insanity...
For the sake of all our well-being, he needs to go ASAP!
