2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

You’re using momentary results to blame the manager but what you really seem angry about is long term trends which isn’t the managers fault.

if you pulled up the spend of those teams over the last 5 years v Everton’s you’d probably see a reason why they’re currently ahead of us. Brighton spent 100s of millions in the summer, we turned a profit.

As a club we can’t keep asking managers to out perform their peers on less resources. Hopefully with the Friedkins in charge those days will be coming to an end but it’s a bit stupid to keep blaming Dyche for what has been Kenwright/Moshiri’s fault.

Also last season we finished on the same points as Brighton Bournemouth, ahead of Fulham, ahead of Brentford and ahead of Forest, so again is it worth looking at what all the clubs did in the summer.

I’ve also heard this short term eulogising of certain teams in the past ‘look at Leeds and what they’ve managed after just being promoted’ ‘look at how O’Neill has got Bournemouth/Wolves playing’ ‘Southampton/Leicester have a recruitment model we should be following’.

No one was praising Brentford or Frank when they were utterly terrible last season. Give it 18 months and some of those teams could easily have problems once again.

One thing is for certain though, if Bournemouth Brighton and Forest keep throwing 100s of millions at players each season, and Everton keep selling their best ones to find cheap loan deals. Then we will stay behind them, regardless of who the manager is.
None of what you’re talking about matters because the managers we have consistently choose not to try. Step one is trying to play football and win games and if they’re falling short of that none of the rest of the makes any difference.

Good morning fellow Evertonians, and what a fine festive Sunday morning it is. Let us try enjoy it not through gritted teeth.

Yuletide greetings to all who celebrate.

And a Happy Hanukkah to you too, Chic's... ;)

No bedwetting present there mate. Just a clear and reasoned post that ended up being accurate.

There was a touch of it mate. You were saying you'd be happy for him to come in short term to save us, when history shows we were well on our way to achieving comfortable safety before the next manager even had his first game in charge.

The paralells with recent times couldn't be more obvious though mate; we actually did need him to steer us clear of danger this time, and as you rightfully predicted back then, he's been the type of manager to stave off the dangers of going down and we're in much a worse state than we were in 2017.

Nope there was no bedwetting whatsoever mate, it was a calm and well reasoned post as much as it pains you to admit it and it definitely proved to be very accurate. Another poster who literally cannot find it within himself to agree with someone who doesn't want Dyche. Kinda sad really but that is the way it is these days. I am used to it.

Think we need an amnesty.

@Curtis, sorry to do this, but you had a shocker on this one!

I actually admitted to this just recently , I thought he did well at Bournemouth and wolves last season' too. Football is a fickle game even decent managers get sacked amd have debacles , obviously with current events ivwould alter my stance and I owe up to my error in judgement

Mate you literally said you'd have him short term in order to avoid us going down that season. We were never in danger of going down that season. You obviously thought we were.

It might have been proven to be accurate if he'd taken over that squad of players and had the 100's of millions that was spent by the next 3 managers, but as of yet, nothing has been proven to be accurate, as many of us think we're just a poor team that is probably underachieving by about 3/4 points so far this season.

The only thing that was accurate was you saying he's the right man to make sure we don't go down in the short term. Many of us don't believe he's had the financial backing to progress us significantly. We might be wrong, but then again the people who think he's had the tools to progress us significantly could equally be wrong. Fact of the matter is though, up until very recently, it's hard to argue that we've not improved under his management.

Can't find it within myself? I'm not sure what it is I'm actually being asked to agree with mate. Is it that you weren't unduly worried about relegation in 2017?

Whatever mate. Really cant be bothered talking to you tbh. It is pointless just like it is with all Dychettes.
