2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Unfortunately for me, i see Dyche as a manager who only comes to life when we are struggling in the league and we need those 'win uglies' mentality.

The only time we put in any sort of performance preseason after some truelly shocking performances and results, was second half against Roma.
Thats where the new boys were given a chance. Thats where fans saw the future..

nah..drop em to the bench and start with the crap...good old sean

Why though mate? We haven’t won anything in thirty years so it’s a bit silly having an entitlement for success, we can’t manifest it just by demanding it.
Agree mate - but him saying publically that it's 'quite an extreme place' is daft as well really. He's been here for nearly two years and he's at the biggest club he'll ever hope to manage & our expectations aren't even all that unmanageable. Just think the fella doesn't do himself many favours.

I really get the frustration, I'm sick of a lot of these players and want newer and quicker players on the pitch. They will play, we haven't committed to 60 mil on Ndiaye, Lindstrom and O'Brien for them to warm the bench. It is very possible they'll be bedded in for the first 5-10 games though so we all just need to be patient, especially if they don't hit the ground running.

It is a very extreme place though with how we as fans react to stuff. We’re a relic of a once good club, champagne tastes but Echo Falls budget. He doesn’t do himself any favours with starting the team that failed first half at Roma instead of going for the much better second half team v Brighton like.

Hard to disagree with him, there was mass hysteria last week over losing to a decent team.

I get there are many who understandably will never take to his style of football or his personality but you have to look at the bigger picture, at least until the club is a bit more secure financially.

no, we didnt even lay a finger on a team that we would of finished above last season if it werent for the points deduction. A team that has welbeck, milner and dunk as its spine and a manager who is younger then all 3 and has never managed in the PL.

It looked like wed turned a corner at the end of last season but last week was right back to square one and Brighton didnt even have to get out of first gear to beat us 3-0

More to the point as well the club is still a complete mess off the pitch and our , forgive me for saying this, NET spend has been comparable to a mid-table Championship club over the last 3-5 years.

I don't think there's anything wrong with big club mentality in principle, but when it makes you overlook harsh realities it's bad.

...and he should really be accepting that and just getting on with it.

This isn't Burnley or Watford - this is Everton. Our fans demand success.
You know how ridiculous that sounds based on recent times?

Is that actually true. I think most desire success, but a significant portion are smart enough to see the nuances of context and shades of grey.

The others, however, I do have my doubts about. No self control, up down, up down.

Okay mate. Allow me then to replace the word 'success' with, more simply, 'better'.

We've had 'better' than Dyche at the club in recent times in terms of both results and performances. I fully acknowledge that the fella did well last season, but IMO he simply can't keep talking like we have to play like sh**e and scrape by season after season to ensure that we stay in the league. It's getting old really fast for loads of the fanbase.
