2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Couldn’t wait to take all the plaudits for his extremely lucky draws, no mention of Pickford being outstanding and key to them. The minute we get beat and it’s the players. I think the biggest problem I have with his quote is that he’s described himself as a “coach” with a straight face. The second half, the one they were following orders was shameful and completely devoid of any semblance of attacking play or crossing positions being worked on. Detestable coward.

Enough said, the players don't want to play how they are coached. Surely only a matter of when not if.

But do you know not one murmur from the crowd ,no Dyche out chants just a few boos.

It's like Goodison has given up too
I think the problem is the fanbase are unsure on the ‘when,’ too.

Some would pull the trigger today, some at the end of the season, some if we sink into the relegation zone.

But I think it’s almost universally held that he’s not the man.

DCL isn’t great with his feet and that’s being kind. Trying to thread balls through the middle for him to run on to isn’t playing to his strengths. What he IS good with though, is his head. Patterson has whipped in more decent balls from wide positions in about half hour in two cameo appearances, than the rest of the squad have all season long. Play the target man, and play the wide man who can deliver a ball from wide areas. Seems so obvious and simple doesn’t it?

Patterson is another example though of what you get with this manager. Dyche clearly doesn’t like him and if “slapgate “ is anything to go by, there seems to be a personality clash there. But if your face doesn’t fit under this manager, you won’t get opportunities. If you do by some miracle get one, you literally have to produce instantly otherwise you’re binned just as quickly.

Beto is another example. Was brought on late against Fulham, scores. Scores again against Southampton with a brilliant control and finish which gets chalked off. Looks dangerous and a goal threat. Then gets ONE start, fails to score and we haven’t seen him since. Yet DCL, Harrison, Mykolenko stink the place out week in week out and get all the opportunities in the world to try and play their way through poor form. He clearly has his favourites and if he doesn’t like you, you’re toast.

Our entire plan to score goals is A) hope McNeil puts a decent enough corner in to the back post B) hope for an opposition gift like Akanji’s swing and miss on Boxing Day. If neither of those things happen then we aren’t scoring a goal.
