2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Its our fullbacks for me.

Ashley Young has possibly been our player of the season, so I dont wanna slate him too much, but you know what im saying.

The sheer fact we HAVE to play Jack Harrison explains it all.

DCL is phoning it in from Dubai.

We could get SAF tomorrow and he would struggle.
You're right the full backs are a problem but even if we get new players there Dyche isn't going to have epiphany and it's cool for them to bomb forward at every chance.

In his system they are deep and narrow.

The thing he drums into these players, more than anything else, is don't get caught ahead of the ball.

It's the cardinal sin and why they're terrified to take a chance, do something different. It's why we don't score from open play (or at all). It's mainly set pieces or recycled set pieces.

Our defensive shape is good, our attack is pitiful.

Everton are currently 100x better off then when Dyche come in.

You had an avatar of Moshiri with a red cross through then for one. Look at your avatar now.

We also knew we had years of selling ahead of us, and point deductions.

We now don't need to sell to survive. We have an owner who isn't AWOL. And we're not expected to go down;

You can't polish a turd.

We need players with pace who can bring us goals more than we need a manager.

That's not to say we dont need both.

Change him tomorrow for Southgate, Moyes, whoever. And like I was under Lampard I'll be saying "what do we expect? The team that's crap is going to be crap"
Assuming this is Dyche you are talking about. Agree with you 💯

Makes a good point and sums Dyche up to an absolute T.

I hate Dyche but that's not totally true, strikers can perform well it's just mostly been in a front 2. Wood still averaged 10+ goals a season in a pretty poor Burnley side.

In Hindsight Wood would've been a good buy a couple years ago.

The problem is even if you give him a better team he’d still be Sean Dyche. No end of better players will not change that, Dyche is Dyche.
The argument of "but if he had money" should never hold weight. We shouldn’t be spending significant amounts just to play Dycheball more effectively, especially since his outdated style offers no guarantees of success or meaningful change.

There's a reason no club has gone in for him even though he did a very good job at Burnley for a decade.

It’s true. He’s simply untouchable to him and will rebuff’s any criticism that comes Dyche’s way. Delusional for me but fair play to him
Both what @GrandOldTeam says about the club, finances etc can be true at the same time as Dyche being a terrible manager in the present but they are seemingly mutually exclusive

I think the rate of return on investment would decrease under Dyche. Expensive flair players would not be expressing themselves and many would not want to come in the first place. Though we need strengthening I would prefer he was nowhere near that process

it would defo decease, also If you’re serious about succeeding with Dycheball, you might as well scrap the DOF role and give Dyche full control. It doesn’t even seem like him and Thelwell are on the same page. Spending £20m on O’Brien feels like a complete waste— couldn’t that money have been used on a full-back instead? Flair players aren't his thing UNLESS they work hard, honestly think Ndiaye has worked as hard as any other player in our team this season.
