2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

It’s the most unwatchable top flight football anyone has seen for a long time, let alone us.

Even Gary Lineker on Match of the Day was alluding to the same.

Todays Echo article pretty much says the same too.

And, as mentioned previously, astoundingly ineffective. This isn't Pulis at Stoke for example. There were, for the most part, results there.

In terms of our modern history, this is the absolute pits at the moment in terms of what we're being served up and it's only right that's called out, and not hidden behind any accusation of recency bias.

I think your right, but I think there's certain games where we can have a far more aggressive attitude in how we are set up, how we play and in turn the % of winning the odd game increases.

If Ndiaye is working 20 yards away from the opposition box, instead of 30 yards away from his own, I think we'll see chances created. Maybe go 3 at the back and bring O'Brien into the fold, play 2 up top.

After such a limp display against Forest where he blamed the whole team not doing what he asked, he basically sent out the same side from the 2nd half against Bournemouth. That just screamed of again saying "yep same again lads".

I'm not saying he has an abundance of options and I think the squad is full of crap. But he's continuing to play players who are having a massive detrimental effect and it really does look like he sets up regardless of opposition to just shut up shop and try and win off a set piece.

I just don't think that's acceptable for another 19 games and I don't think we'll get enough wins under this current style and current manager

So, it is a risk? Yep. More it's more of a risk if we keep a manager who simply looks like he's completely checked out already and doesn't seem to have strong characters around him who are willing to tell him its simply not working, whatever it is he thinks he's trying to do.
I personally would be really comforted by this report if its indeed true. Its wild to be a Dyche apologist but I do so really in the argument of in what context do we best find his replacement as that is all but guaranteed. Bournemouth and Forest are better than us, have more talent on the pitch at this current stage. I think the season as a whole yes has been underwhelming to expectations of last years point tally removed the deduction.

But to me it comes down to two simple questions. One, are we likely be clear of relegation if Dyche stays, and two does more time with him afford a better hiring process for his replacement. Simply put I think the answers yes on both those.

I think the benefits of being able to clear house simultaneously with the roster and stadium switch, while TFG has gotten the lay of the land for 5 or so months is insurmountable. I think it gives us a way better pitch to possible managers and DoF's. all that points to riding this out.

Two absolutely great posts and sums up the balance of both sides of the debate, its very very, fine margins. ;)

I'm confused.. why is that funny?
Because it’s sounds utterly ridiculous
Dyche got 4 wins in 30,
Had lost the fans and players by the stage and you think he was capable of winning 4 of the last 8?
And you’re criticising Jackson who obviously is not a manager by the way and god knows where he is these days,
Yet he won 3.

In there last 8 they had West Ham away,
Spurs away, villa home and away, they had a poor manager, but some good players
And an improving Newcastle. Dyche had just surrendered to Norwich the worst side in the league in his last game before the sack

Mate nothing I said was even remotely controversial  go back and just read the posts again..

I think some are just so blind in their hatred of Dyche that they don't want to hear any balanced opinions at all.

I'll reiterate once more - I don't care whether he stays or goes, there's arguments for both. I'm just contributing to the discussion with what was a pretty harmless opinion backed up with some readily available sentiment. Dunno why you lot get so worked up over this fella
