2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Loved the bits where "Dyche received support in the squad" and it's from his favourites Keane and Doucoure

Also, damning:
Since the start of the 2023-24 campaign, Dyche’s side scored 26 goals from open play, the lowest of any of the Premier League’s ever-presents in that time. The team with the next fewest, West Ham, managed more than twice as many (56).

So naturally we're hiring the ex-West Ham manager during that period to take us forward.

Wasn't fired was he? He left at the end of his contract, if I remember correctly.

I'm gonna be pedantic. I think he made the decision to leave after the remaining dildo brorher offered him a contract, pulled it and then offered him it again.
Yeah it was weird - think they probably had more demands for a better contract as they wanted better performances but that likely only lead to disagreements.

Didn't he reject the last offer himself though?

I have vague memories of the offer being given, then pulled, then about to be given but he rejected it outright or something, so I'll trust you on whatever happened really  "Ex-WHAM manager" covers it well enough anyway I think :)

He jumped before he was pushed.

Obviously got wind they spoke to Potter, was happy to get the boot and moved on.

Once he didn't get the new shiny contract last season, he knew the writing was on the wall.

He never seemed to care so was waiting for the takeover and his big chunk of cash.

He will come back on some cack paper knocking the club and fans on how they disrespected him after keeping us up because he honestly thought he was that good.

He will never get a bigger job than us and he will be bitter about it for the rest of his career

Many people knew what he was up to as this season went on and you could see it in his attitude and performances. Showed his hand in the end and got his comeuppance when he went face to face with TFG who are known to be hard and ruthless. I am glad we are no longer soft touches tbh. Got sick of terrible managers taking us to the cleaners. It is no surprise really that the Everton statement was as blunt as it was.

The task in front of Dyche’s replacement is significant. Like many of his predecessors, the former Burnley manager saw key players sold on a regular basis in an attempt to balance the books and keep Everton afloat.
What key players of Dyche were sold on a regular basis given he was here for only a season and 2 half seasons ?

Maybe Onana and that's it ? What a load of waffle the Athletic spout

Managers like Dyche will always baffle me with their lack of warmth towards the club that employs them. All you have to do is throw out the odd soundbite to keep the fans onside but that appeared to be too much.

I guess in a way it's admirable that he didn't play the game and clearly just saw the job as his next pay cheque. Unfortunately for him it meant that when things went wrong there wasn't anyone within the fanbase fighting his corner.

Dyche has always been consistent as a manager. He plays to get enough 1-0 wins and 1-1 or scoreless draws to stay up. His teams don't score goals. The real test for Moyes is can this roster be reconfigured to start scoring 2 or 3 goals more consistently? Or is the offense unfixable in the short term?
