2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

And he lives in Nottingham. It's a long way to Glasgow for a lot less money than he's been getting.
He’d hardly be on minimum wage. Taking the Rangers job would absolutely be worth his while financially.

I imagine that he’d do what he did here, get a miserable flat with Woany and Stoney. Then of an evening, they’d all sit round pulling each other off over Gary Birtles

Thank God he's gone. Negativity, downplaying the club, the players, the chances.

Bloke landed on his feet with the biggest job he'll ever have and he moaned and complained.

Something the dychettes(yes i like that term) know but they'd rather chew glass than admit. The majority of his time at Burnley he was told his less than a goal a game ratio was fine. That he was a brilliant manager.
He couldnt comprehend that it wasnt a one size fits all elsewhere. That setting up for a 0-0 wasnt actually that great. He started to quote Brian clough. Seemingly forgetting that clough won league titles and European cups. Mad comparison.
He'd lost the plot at the end. Was running out of people to blame so his egotistical arrogance kicked in. As one trick pony manager you could find.
The dychettes who are still claiming nobody could have done any better just look incredibly stupid. Thankfully there isnt many left. Worrying if there were with that view.

Ah now you see, a lot of people were insistent that this wasn’t the case. In fact a lot of people said that unless we spent a fortune on a new squad in January, then nobody else could possibly have done better than he was doing, and 17th would’ve been an achievement.

Surely we only have to look around the world a little bit to see that “a lot of people” thinking something is no indication that it’s right?

This season yes.

People seemingly forget this same manager did a run of four wins last season including Forest Newcastle Chelsea Burnley, and then won 5 in 7 at the end of the season including a derby win, all wins in those streaks without conceding a single goal. He also started off his tenure with 2 wins out of 3, one being against the top of the league at the time. Should have seen some of the comments on here at the time, Dyche was the best thing going after Lampard apparently. So all this ‘he’s not capable’ is a bit ridiculous when it’s literally all there in the last 2 years. Away wins at Brighton, wins in a row, beating Liverpool, did I imagine all these happening?

My point is all managers have good and bad spells. I hope people remember this the first time Moyes hits a dip and continue to back him rather than start instantly crying demanding a manager who will win at whatever their desired rate is. I would love him to keep this current form up but as we are the form team in the league over the last 5 games I very much doubt it will continue to go on this way (much as I want it to). It’s at that point that Moyes needs fans supporting him for the job at hand rather than getting bored, toys out the pram, and start campaigning for the next shiny ball (why didn’t we get a young progressive manager like Iraola etc.)
I was never a big fan of Dyche, I nod my head to his achievement in keeping us up last season despite the points deduction, but, I think the reason he is so unpopular is that he sucked every atom of joy out of being an Evertonian. His constant whinging and deflection in his press conferences, the constant references to how bad things were before 'we got here' his stupid smartarse corporate buzz phrases and his thinly veiled digs at the fans. There was also the fact that the football he served up was turgid to say the least.

He's certainly not the worst appointment we have made, that honour goes to Moshiri's madness in appointing Benitez, but as regards popularity he is probably in the bottom three along with Benitez and Allerdyce. Dyche and Allerdyce both kept us up, although I'm not sure we were really in danger when we brought Allerdyce in, however, the common denominator was all three are bullying smart arse egomaniacs.

We all know there is one particular lemon who is going to be all gloom and doom once this run is over. He will revel in it as well.

I'll be logging off when this happens as he's not good for my health at times. Can be funny but can also be very tedious.

Most of us knew the players we have were much better than he had playing and more balanced than we had in seasons. Two Dyches biggest faults for me were, criticising fans for unreal expectations. and his rank hypocrisy about fitness and PL ready. Glad he has gone, think he instigated his removal because he concluded come what may, he had no future beyond this season and essentially got chippy about it. And now we are closer to Europe qualification than relegation without Dyche, that's his legacy.

I agree with a lot of what you say but would anyone have preferred a dead nice super positive bloke who sent us down?

There was a downside as well as an upside to choosing a different manager than a Dyche or Allardyce type at the time we hired them, it’s just hardly talked about. We’ve done extremely well to get Moyes because of his connection the club and the fact we’ve just been taken over. We’ll reap the upside now. The downside though was we span the wheel before the takeover happened and ended up with a Ruben Selles, Van Nistlerooy, Jesse Marsch, another Lampard type some uber positive ‘progressive’ coach who allowed methodology to outweigh pragmatism and took us down on a run of multiple losses. The club would be in a much different position now. Nice bloke though.

Small sample size for Moyes but just wow.
