2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

His comment regarding subs and being in the same company as Pep for how many makes was frankly embarrasing. Never looked more Mike Bassett in his time here.
I'm still shaking my head, it's such a ridiculous answer. Even if stats show Pep makes few substitutions it means absolutely nothing because the issue was situation specific - and a goal up, facing an obvious change in momentum with obviously tiring players Pep is going to make substitutions then, not to mention having players rolling around on the deck and committing tactical fouls to break up play.

Pep isn't just the best coach out there, he knows how to use every option available, cynical or not, to manage a game. Dyche did none of that.

The guy will never take responsibility for anything so best to just do what i do, don't watch his conference's and don't listen to anything he has to say because everything that comes out of his mouth is complete and utter codswallop. ;)

Problem solved. Now will some one sack him already ffs. Abysmal manager in every regard.

Didn’t watch it, couldn’t think of anything worse than listening to him talk. Did he really reference the fact that Pep doesn’t make subs, as if it’s remotely the same having a team that has 80% of the football in a game compared to a team that spends most of the game chasing shadows and running itself into the ground?

Dyche is asked about substitutions - a big topic post-Bournemouth. He said he has watched that match back ‘47 times’ and doesn’t think substitutions cost Everton. Nor does he think they were wrong - he says Ndiaye was fatigued and that Calvert-Lewin’s condition is still being monitored carefully.

On off the pitch noise - he says he ‘has never known a calm period at Everton’ and therefore has no choice but to try and manage the situation as it develops around him.

The game we on for 98 minutes
watching that game 47 times equates to 4606 minutes, or 76 hours
So since Saturday Sean Dyche has spent 15 hours a day, every day, watching the same game

And he still thinks leaving Seamus Coleman and Tim on was the right call

Pep made 4 subs in the game vs WHam.
He made 5 in the game vs Ipswich.

It beggars belief that Dyche doesn't understand this:

Pep makes substitutions when he needs to make substitutions. He makes substitutions less often because he needs to less often. Dyche for a myriad of reasons needs to make substitutions more often but doesn't do so.

But to Dyche it's just about two numbers, and Pep's number is lower. As seems to be a trait he ignores the nuance.
