2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

Dixon - Tarkowski - Branthwaite - Mykolenko is the way to go.

As good as Branthwaite is, and he was excellent last year, I also think we have to remember that he is 22 and he's not peak Baresi.

Things will definitely get better with him there, but I don't think it's fair to blame how shaky we've been on his absence. It's a factor, but I think we have to be careful not to set the expectations that he comes back in and we're as defensively solid as we were last year.

It's got to be hard enough for a young player coming in to a team that is doing so poorly, without an entire fanbase pinning their hopes on him as well.

My biggest concern watching us at the minute is how easy we are to play through in midfield and Branthwaite will have a limited impact on that.

A manager with five league wins so far this calendar year is good enough for Everton!

Blue Bill is smiling down from heaven right now at the small time thinking on display here!😂
Well, his work is what has led us to this.

The truth is there is such a vacuum of leadership, competence, ambition and funding at the club that such a manager HAS to survive for fear of "destabilising" us further. That's how bad it is. And it could get even worse. And it's that fear that keeps such a man with such a record in situ.

Until the ownership changes, nothing else will.

Bottom half can be 11th and 20th, he’s not getting v the best out of the squad have been in a horrendous run. What’s it now 5 wins in 27? Add in the style his poor in game management, bizarre comments in press conferences. He won’t last the season

How many wins do you think this Everton team should realistically demand in 27 games?

Within those 27 games are also 9 draws including away to Villa, Newcastle, Brighton and at home to Spurs.

In terms of personnel, on paper, I think we have one of the 3 least desirable squads in the Premier League.

Dyche needs to do better, but that's what he's been given to work with, all while selling our best players and shopping in Food banks in the transfer market.

This form sends us down. You may be prepared to keep your faith in him, but I'm sure you can understand why most of us are now in the 'Sean out' camp. No way is he is getting the best out of this squad.

Are you a majority?

Ok, a new manager might do better. But they might do worse over 33 games than Dyche will...and that will get us relegated.

Be careful what you wish for.
We haven't won a premier league game for 4 months mate. The 11th May to be exact. 5 PL wins in total since December 2023 and we are nearly in October 2024. Just let that sink in for a minute and then ask yourself do you really think another manager would do worse. There is no way is this team that bad. It is absolutely shocking and literally any decent Manager would do better. I would say be careful what you don't wish for is more the case.
