2024/25 Sean Dyche - Sacked

He can still claim that right now:

1st season we were going down under Lampard. He came in and got us safe
2nd season the whole world was conspiring to relegate us - he got us safe...and then some
3rd season he left us in 16th position and we had a game in hand over opponents who have proven (as we all knew) incapable of getting more points (we'd have still been out of the relegation zone now with the points Dyche left us on about 6 weeks ago)

There's some asinine comments made about Dyche relegating us...mind you, we have a fanbase that were running round with their hair on fire saying Martinez was going to relegate us...when we were 11th in the table, so it doesn't surprise me.

Dyche did us a big favour here and he can easily hold his head up high on his record as manager of this club. EASILY.
He didn't do anyone a "big favour" Dave. He was unemployed when he took the job and he was handsomely paid for his time here. He's going to collect another and final payoff from the club when we stay up. I've given him more credit then most but I refuse to act like he was doing charity or something when he was making a kings ransom from the club regardless of how good a job he did/didn't do. No manager, Moyes, Dyche, Anchelotti, Benitez, whoever, needs big ludicrous "thank you's" and grovelling. Their pay is their thanks for doing their ruddy job.

The worst thing about Dyche is that it would've taken so very little to make his time here comparatively successful. All he had to do was bit a little more positive in terms of style of play this year. If he'd have had us even five more points higher then when he got sacked, I think he'd still be here. I'd think he'd have seen his contract out and could've boasted forever more about being the guy kept Everton afloat three years on the spin, and saved the club in our darkest hour before bowing out on his own terms. He'd probably have got himself a really good championship job besed on it. Instead he couldn't let go of his own inbuilt negativity and its cost him.
Thank the lord then that he didn't do that 'little bit more' earn those 5 more points and still be here eh?

10 seasons in the PL.

‘Not a PL level manager’

Wonder why you’re not working for a recruitment team in the PL tbh with this level of insight

When you’re relegated and sacked multiple times from PL teams you’re not at the level.

Southampton have been in the PL a lot lately, they’re not a PL level team.

He’s had 1 more relegation than Moyes, Marco Silva and Eddie Howe.

What’s the point in exaggerating everything?

He’s managed like 14th most amount of games in PL history. No point being hyperbolic and saying he’s not a PL manager

So does Allardyce. Is he PL level manager in 2025?

No, there are 20 jobs in the PL and neither him or dyche have one of them.

Dyche was a PL manager last season, overseeing Everton through a spell where they received two pts deductions and a possible takeover by a crowd who had no money. All while getting us a derby win that sees us leave Goodison with the same wins as them lot. It’s not been an eternity since he was employed.

Wasn’t good enough this season so he got sacked.

He can still claim that right now:

Correct.

By resigning.

He took the poisoned chalice when Bielsa was literally saying he’d rather train our kids.

Thank god he stepped up and delivered or we’d be playing Wrexham now and debating what the lease rate for the new stadium next year would be.

Never mind #thankyougaffer it should be #thankYOURgaffer
