Wow. We play boring attritional football (when we're half decent) and now we turn to Dyche so that we can play..........boring attritional football. When was the last time an Everton team regularly played entertaing stuff. We deserve (and need) relegation. Let's press reset. Get rid of all of the overpaid talentless wonders (no pace, no vision, no goalscoring pedigree) currently in the squad and start again. Is it better to play good stuff in Div 1 and win nowt thant to play tedious stuff in the Prem and win nowt?
Dyche? FFS - joke of a club/owner!

no

I'm amazed Dyche hasn't been approached by now. Maybe he has been and was waiting Lampard out?

Ive wanted him during this process, hes the sensible choice for anyone with a bit of self awareness of our position, current PR profile, financial position and what we need.

We dropped a clanger not getting him when Sam came in, but we had Silva in the long grass....that was the time for me.

Im very pleased with the appointment, we've given ourselves a chance, im a bit surprised weve been so sensible - im saying that in the context of it being a massively tough, tough job but i think he has the skillls. Hes not going to soft soap our players and they need a bit of that.

If we do this today we have to go hell for leather now to bring players in.

To be fair loads of people said that about Allardyce, but ultimately he achieved what was necessary at the time.
A lot has changed in the way teams set up in the PL since then, at that time, maybe only 2 teams employed any kind of press, now they all do it to some degree.
I fear that's why Dyche's methods eventually failed. Ultimatly, too many draws did for him.

lol keep dreaming

thoughts on dyche and staying up toff?
Realistically for where we are right now it's a logical, if uninspiring, appointment.

I don't think he's a sure-fire guarantee like some seem to think he is. He'll need to show he's learned lessons from his last two seasons at Burnley, when it went stale.

He'll need to do something he's never done and improve an attack.

But if he manages that then there's a good chance he can keep us up.

That being said, the possibility of attracting quality young players has just taken a massive hit, should we stay up in the summer.

Lampard, like it or not, was a huge pull for that.

But we cross that bridge when we come to it.
