Realistically for where we are right now it's a logical, if uninspiring, appointment.

I don't think he's a sure-fire guarantee like some seem to think he is. He'll need to show he's learned lessons from his last two seasons at Burnley, when it went stale.

He'll need to do something he's never done and improve an attack.

But if he manages that then there's a good chance he can keep us up.

That being said, the possibility of attracting quality young players has just taken a massive hit, should we stay up in the summer.

Lampard, like it or not, was a huge pull for that.

But we cross that bridge when we come to it.

superb post mate

I can sense a real up and at em atmosphere next weekend. Dyche’ first game and presented on pitch before kick off, table topping Arsenal visiting which every man and his dog will expect us to lose, I can just see the crowd being up for this and that will relate to the players. Every tackle that flies in will get the crowd off their feet and even more up for it which will get even more out of the players. I can see this being one of those Goodison days
Yes, im looking forward to Goodison next week. Maybe its deluded hope!

Very canny choice.
Plenty of Championship experience
He will know the routes to all the grounds
And we won't need to appoint another new manager next season. Continuity is our motto.
Shrewd planning by our Board
